#WednesdayWordswithFriends A Message from Me....

Good Morning Friends and Welcome!

Well, hurricane season just keeps on giving. Misery that is. Although Tropical Storm Nicholas made landfall in SW TX, it's been steadily raining here since Monday night. Hopefully it'll clear up today though before we all float away.

There's not a whole lot going on in my life right now. My newsletter goes out tomorrow and I'm sharing a link to my website with slideshows and recaps of my trip to Alaska. Although I shared some here a couple of weeks ago, you'll find a lot more info on the website so, if you're not subscribed to the newsletter, do so now so you can check it out!

I shared these memes to social media a few weeks back hoping to encourage readers that I am writing (although I haven't written much on that particular story since).

Kyleigh's Cowboy is almost finished. First draft of it anyway. I only need to flesh out the last chapter and then, hopefully I can get it to an editor and up before the end of the year. I also have a couple more ideas floating around in my brain (not to mention a dozen or more sitting in files waiting to be developed). My goal for 2021 was to retire from insurance, wrap up projects that really have nothing or little to do with my writing and be organized and focused to WRITE more in 2022. Please pray that I can do all that.

Another item on my To Do lists was to get all of my books in audio. Well, I'm happy to say Lori's Redemption is in production with ACX. Which means it's been narrated and approved by me so once it goes through ACX production the audio book will be live! I had to find a new narrator because the lovely Terri England, who narrated the entire Tempered series & My Heart Weeps retired from narrating! Never fear though, Lia Frederick is wonderful too. I'm truly impressed at what she's done with Lori's Redemption and have contracted Tempered Truth & Keri's Christmas Wish - both of which should be done and out before Christmas. I'll keep you posted on that.

Guess that's about all for now friends. Thank you for stopping by. Be sure and check back weekly for Wednesday Words with Friends and Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time take care and God Bless.

#WednesdayWordswithFriends ~ A Special Post from ME!

Good Morning Friends,

My scheduled guest could not make it today so I'm filling in with an update. Heading out tomorrow to South Carolina for a high school graduation. Prayers for safe travels appreciated.

If you follow me, you'll notice a couple of new promotions through NN Light's Book Heaven. June is Audio Book Month so I'm participating in this giveaway which has 5 Amazon Gift cards up for grabs!

I'm also participating in their Beach Blanket Book Giveaway which has lots of great prizes so check it out.

AND Today is the LAST day of their SALUTE MILITARY Bookish Event with a $28 Amazon gift card up for grabs. Check out all the great books featured HERE and Enter the giveaway HERE.

My Women's Fiction collection, Love's Overcoming Power is available for Pre-Order and will be live on June 15th. This is a compilation of 4 currently published titles but if you haven't read them or know someone who would enjoy My Heart Weeps, The Visionary, Circles of Fate and Keri's Christmas Wish, the collection is less than 1/2 price of buying these books individually! Please pass the word.

May 31st was my last "official" day at the insurance office where I've worked the last 5 years. I'm excited to see what God has in store for me next!

Other than that, that's about all that's new in my life.

I THANK YOU for dropping by and pray you have a BLESSED week and that you'll drop by for Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time take care and God Bless.

#WednesdayWordswithFriends Happy Birthday to ME!

Yep, today's the big 60 and I'm ecstatic. No, not crazy LOL! but ecstatic because May 31st is my last day of work outside of the home.

I'm probably the only woman you'll meet that actually looked forward to turning 40. As Rebecca Sinclair (The Inheritance) put it....

When I turn forty, my youngest will be eighteen and out of school, and I’ll be through raising kids!

Now I know you never truly finish raising kids, but there comes a point when you're more a friend and advisor than instructor/corrector. For me that was age 40.

When you lose a spouse, you don't think about the future too far in advance but at some point, you realize God has a purpose and a plan for your life. For me, turning 60 means I can RETIRE!

From Insurance at least. I'll probably never retire from writing and doing the things I love. And, although I'll be forever grateful for the jobs God has blessed me with in the past, I'm looking forward to working on My Stuff (actually HIS stuff.)

Much like Melena in My Heart Weeps, I can finally, fully focus on my writing career.

But hey, I'm keeping my Insurance License active for the next several years in case I get bored being retired and want to go back to work.

Anyway, since today is my birthday, I'm offering a gift to YOU!

Leave a comment & your email address and one lucky winner will receive an E-copy of The Inheritance and one, My Heart Weeps.

Thank you and Good luck!

#WednesdayWordswithFriends A Note from Me.....

Good Morning and Welcome to the last Wednesday Words with Friends post for September, 2020!

It's been a while since I posted something personal for you, Friends. Too Long. A lot has happened since July 1st. My Heart Weeps released on August 18th as planned but the blog tour began on August 11th with the last stop today on Linda Nightingale's blog. The audiobook released on August 29th.

Remember there are a total of 6 prizes (1 per person) to be given away in October to friends who have followed and commented on the blog tour spots. Each one can be found HERE and it's not too late to participate! Each link is updated to the actual post and I will continue to check for late visitors and you will be counted in the giveaways.

On August 26th we had to evacuate due to Hurricane Laura who attacked our coast with a vengeance, leaving devastation in her wake. Few people avoided damage of some sort - if only the loss of necessities like power and water to conveniences like internet and cable. My daughter's house had to be completely gutted. And then.....

My Dad Passed Away.

To say things are in a turmoil is an understatement, but alas, God is still on the throne and we continue to survive one day at a time.

My goal for this blog has always been to share good news, uplifting information and happy times with you but life isn't always good, uplifting or happy.

That said, despite our losses, our family HAS experienced good news. We have two new babies on the way! My brother will receive a new grandchild and a new great grandchild in 2021. My uncle who has battled lung cancer seems to have won - he received a diagnosis of NED (no evidence of disease!!!) from his doctors this week. We, as a community, are returning to work and school and picking up the pieces of our lives and are determined to come back stronger than ever.

In a time when our entire country is in upheaval, the folks of SW Louisiana are pulling together and all those who've shown up to help us are GREATLY Appreciated!

More good news.....

Tempered Joy is in audio production and Tempered Truth is in the final editing stages! I look for both to be released by Thanksgiving, definitely in time for Christmas. I just realized I haven't shared the cover for Tempered Truth here on my blog! Here ya go.... please forgive this oversight.

Well friends, this about wraps up my life in a nutshell for the past two months. I hope and pray you are all blessed and prosperous!

Until next time, take care and God bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on My Heart Weeps!

Well Friends, release day is right around the corner and if you're one of my newsletter subscribers (or a very observant blog follower) you'll know that My Heart Weeps blog tour has already begun!

With that in mind, I wanted to spotlight the book for you today....

After thirty years married to the man of her dreams, Melena Rhyker is devastated by her husband's death. Relief comes in the form of an artist's retreat at the Crossed Penn ranch in Utopia, TX. She rediscovers a forgotten dream as her artistic talent flourishes into that of a gallery-worthy artist. Will she have the courage to follow the path she was destined to travel?

Garrett Saunders has been on the run most of his life. Abused and abandoned as a child, he escapes the clutches of a past filled with pain and shame, and hides from his calling as a Native American healer. His years as a CIA agent aid in overcoming his childhood and honing his talent and skill as a fine art photographer.

Follow their journey as two people who come from totally different backgrounds, but share gifts of gigantic proportions, find meaning and purpose in the Texas Hill Country.

Excerpt: Melena parked her truck, pocketed her keys and went on her very first hayride. She admired how Bill Penn wove stories around the history of the area in with feeding the longhorns. Afterward, they travelled to a nearby state natural area where the guests wandered down to a creek and skipped rocks. Melena sat on a small boulder and drew in the scent of fresh, crisp air, earth and flowers.

Sounds magnified in the pristine environment as daylight waned and dusk edged in, leeching color from the sky. The trickling of the stream as it moved across its bed. Plop, plop of stones hitting the water. A quiet laugh. The click of a camera as Garrett wove through the guests taking pictures. A bird trilled in the distance. Doves cooed. Frogs began their evening song accentuated by the occasional hoot of an owl. A hush fell over the entourage and stillness ensued.

Garrett touched her arm and pointed to a thicket across the way. Melena gasped as a doe and fawn stepped out and drank. Once the pair moved on, the group loaded back onto the hay wagon and returned to the ranch. Relaxed and happy, they congregated around the campfire area while Garrett and Bill Penn stacked wood. Soon, a fire lit up the night sky. Crickets and chickadees kept cadence with the country music provided by an outdoor stereo.

~ ~ ~

Since I LOVE the Texas Hill Country so much, I wanted you to get a taste of it. You won't find this excerpt anywhere else on the tour!

My Heart Weeps is on sale for a limited time @ 99cents and FREE on Kindle Unlimited.

I would love for this book to hit Amazon's best seller lists. Wouldn't you?

I thought you would and you can help by ordering your copy today or Tuesday. The more pre-orders and purchases on release day (Tuesday the 18th), the higher in Amazon's rankings the book will be and who knows, it just might hit the best seller lists! THANKS Friends!

For those who follow the book tour, I am giving away 1 Ebook, 1 Autographed Print Book, 1 Audio Book, a $15 Amazon Gift Card, a 1-month Audible membership and a SURPRISE Giftpack to 6 lucky people (1 prize per winner)! Names will be collected throughout the tour which ends Sept. 30th. Winners will be notified, and prizes awarded by October 10th so be sure to leave your EMAIL Address.

Hope you enjoyed the spotlight friends and that you'll check back weekly for more great authors on Wednesday Words with Friends and of course, Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time, take care and God Bless.

#WednesdayWordswithFriends welcomes April Jones @akejones

Good Morning!

Well it's going to be a busy, busy couple of months. My Heart Weeps blog tour started yesterday and will continue through Sept. 30th. I'm giving away prizes to 6 lucky people (1 per person) who follow the tour and comment on the blog posts. Yesterday I was on Gail Pallotta's blog. Tomorrow I'll be on Liz Flaherty's. Each day, I will update the URL on THIS PAGE to point to the actual post instead of the general blogs I visit, so even if you jump in and start following late, you can still catch up and enter the giveaway!

I hope you'll follow and have fun learning more about Melena's journey, but enough about us!

Last month I introduced you to a brand new-to-me author. April Jones returns today to share some words of wisdom with us. Take it away, April.....

2020 has been a year that none of us could imagine in some many ways. Before I’ve had a chance to process the latest event, it seems three more have popped up. I work from home usually, but now that everyone is home with me, it seems that there is one thing that we all need (other than a break for our devices) and that is kindness. I’m not talking about the, “No, you go first,” in the grocery store line (though that is also an awesome way to show kindness). I mean self kindness.

The kind that pipes in when you’ve reached the end of a crazy day. That little voice that says, “it’s okay, I’ll try again tomorrow.”

Because the truth is that none of us have ever had a year like this one, and the punches seem to keep coming. So for today, even if it’s only for an hour, I hope that you will pat yourself on the back for trying no matter how flawed you feel. Take an extra breath before you respond to something that’s annoyed you. Spend a few minutes on your front porch looking at the trees. Write yourself a post-it with a quote that makes you smile and stick it to your bathroom mirror.

Being human can be a beautifully exhausting thing, so be extra kind with yourself today dear friends.

A Tennessee native, April currently lives in Michigan with her husband and three children. You can find her poems and short stories published in various literary magazines across the internet and in print. You can also check out her debut novel, The Curse Breaker. For more information visit her website thepathtostory.com

Find out more about April and connect with her on the following social media sites...

Get a copy of The Curse Breaker at Amazon in Print and for Kindle.

What wonderful advice, April and you are SO right. Kindness to others and ourselves is imperative, especially in these unprecedented times. Thanks for sharing!

Remember friends, you can enter into my monthly gift card giveaway simply by leaving a comment for April, Include your email address, please. Not everyone of you are in my contacts list and I need to be able to reach you!

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you'll do so each week for Saturday Spotlight and Wednesday Words with Friends.

Until next time, take care, God bless and be kind.
