#SaturdaySpotlight is on Ida Flowers & Jessie's Passion

Good Morning!

It's C-O-L-D here in SWLA. In fact it's going to be cold for several days here and across the nation so what better thing to do than curl up with a good book?!

Although you might recognize this book from a previous sidebar ad, our guest is brand new to the blog so please welcome, Ida Flowers!

Take it away Ida! Tell us all about Jessie's Passion, and yourself...

Thanks for having me, Pam! I write—and read—historical fiction because it transports me into the past and all its fascinations without requiring me to give up the ice in my Tom Collin’ses and my warm daily shower. I write women’s fiction because the needs and desires of women are universal across time and space, and I write Southern fiction because, simply, I am a Southerner.

Jessie’s Passion is the story of a strong-willed, impetuous young woman—much like I was at her age—who is determined to have what she wants no matter what the cost. But at the heart of her character is the knowing that she is right. She has an unshaken belief that she is meant to be with the man she loves and in the end, she is proven right.

Jessie’s Passion is set against the backdrop of the Stamp Act and the Regulator movement in the South Carolina colony in the 1760s. I have done extensive research and much of the background of this story is based upon a book I bought at a library sale that contains the diaries of a traveling minister during the time of the Regulators. I used it to fact-check my writing when my characters were experiencing events and to see what the weather was like that season. My research contributes to the cohesion of the story and makes it believable, makes us think it could have actually happened—and probably did.

South Carolina, 1765. A group of wealthy young friends. A colony terrorized by outlaws. A young woman obsessed.

Jessie Maclaine, the youngest of the group of friends from the Carolina Lowcountry, is a spoiled, passionate girl determined to have her own way and marry Robbie Stewart, who still sees her as the tag-along pest of their childhood. Her every waking thought is focused on making him to see her as a woman, and in her dreams, he belongs to her. Robbie Stewart is the eldest of the group and the heir to Brianag, his uncle’s plantation. He is far too occupied with tormenting the agents responsible for enforcing the Stamp Act and helping his deceased father’s family defend themselves against outlaws in the Backcountry to pay any attention to Jessie—except when he finds an opportunity to tease her. As unrest builds in the colonies and the outlaws continue their rampages in the mountains, Jessie learns that the world is bigger than youthful desire and that choices made impetuously are followed inevitably by consequences—some of which are irreparable.

Excerpt: I grew so weary at times I felt that I must get down and rest; but then I thought of Robbie, ill and calling my name, and this thought spurred me forward. The McDonald boys laughed and joked together with Kevin. The Creek boys went ahead and behind, watchful and quiet.

As the sun was setting, we reached the village. The people came forward to greet us. An old woman with gray hair and linsey-woolsey clothes, and odd ornaments adorning her neck, stood at the forefront.
At last memory rang true, and a shock thrummed through me. I remembered her now. I had been frightened of her when I had awakened at last from my illness. I remembered her blue eyes. I stared at her with confusion. She was not an Indian. Why did she live at the Creek village, and why was she called Old Creek Woman, when she was clearly a white woman?

Kevin lifted me down, and my knees gave way beneath me. He held me up on one side while Bobby held me on the other. My feet and legs tingled painfully as the blood returned.

"Robbie-Jessie," said the old woman, and I remembered that she had addressed me thusly before.
I tried to curtsey to her with the men holding onto my arms. "Madam," I said.

"Come," she said, and I followed her, stumbling.

She lifted the curtain on one of the houses and ducked beneath it. I bent down and followed her. At first, I could see only the fire, but then my eyes adjusted and I looked where she pointed. I stumbled forward and fell to my knees.

"Robbie," I said, "Oh, Robbie, my love."

He did not respond. My heart stopped. I thought for one appalling moment that he was dead. I put my ear to his lips and felt his breath, reached beneath the skins that covered him and felt his heartbeat, rapid and thin, beneath his burning skin. My own heart began to beat again, and my tears flowed swiftly, dropping onto his face, as I kissed him over and over. "Oh, Robbie, my love, my only love," I whispered. "Oh, Robbie, Robbie."

Jessie's Passion can be found at Amazon and other online retailers HERE.

Fascinated by historical fiction from the time she first read about Laura Ingalls at the age of eight, Ida Flowers began writing novels at the age of eleven. She wrote dozens of stories over the years, in spiral notebooks and on the backs of discarded printed copy paper and on a word processor. She got distracted by motherhood and working for a living and hurricane survival, but being a writer was never eradicated from her dreams.

Now an empty-nester, Ida spends as much time as possible traveling and researching the history of women in Early America while working on the series of novels set in Colonial South Carolina.

Connect with Ida (aka: Trina Morgan) on her Website, Blog, Facebook and X.

Wonderful! Thanks again, for visiting with us today, Ida!

Until next time, stay warm Friends.

#SaturdaySpotlight All Christmas thru Christmas 2024

I've considered reinstating the Saturday Spotlight feature here for quite a while now and what better time to do so than Christmas?!

So, every Saturday through early-mid Jan., I'll be sharing great Christmas books with you, beginning with my very own, Keri's Christmas Wish.

Controversy and Inconsistencies are thieves of holiday joy for Keri...is there any hope for a happy holiday season?

For as long as she can remember, Keri Jackson has despised the hype and commercialism around Christmas—especially with the controversy over the time of Jesus’s birth. Will she get her wish and be free of the angst to truly enjoy Christmas this year?

Jeremy Hinton thinks Keri is a highly intelligent, deeply emotional, and intensely complex woman and he’s as fascinated by her aversion to Christmas as he is of the woman herself. A devout Christian at heart, he’s studied all of the world’s religions and homeopathic healing modalities. But when a rare bacterial infection threatens her life, will all of his faith and training be for naught?

Fans of near death experiences will enjoy this woman’s mystical journey into spiritual Truth.

Excerpt: She awoke in another dimension. Keri had no idea if she was in Heaven, but neither did she fear Hell. Her surroundings were reminiscent of a dense forest at dusk. Shadows danced against a sunset where brilliant colors bled from the sky. A light shone in the distance but as she moved toward it, Keri felt as though she plowed through molasses. Unease pricked her skin. The sound of water drew her deeper into the woods until she stood at the base of a vast waterfall and rapids so swift she dared not attempt to cross the river.

The light grew stronger, brighter. Beckoning.

I need to get to the light.

* * * *

I am 100% panster so when I sat at the computer with one scene in mind, Keri scrolling through her newsfeed and grumbling “bah humbug” over the ‘Christmas in July’ propaganda, I had absolutely NO idea where the story was going or what would happen.

I was introduced to Energy Medicine a several years ago and find the whole concept of healing the body – or actually the body healing itself by correcting energy imbalance–fascinating. Along with EM, I’ve discovered the power of positive thoughts and prayers (see: You can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay). Add to that, my belief in the afterlife and the books & movies affirming those beliefs, and well, this story practically wrote itself.

What is still amazing for me is that Keri’s Christmas Wish (published in 2016) was the first romantic story I wrote in its entirety after my husband passed away in 2009. Oh, I had things published that were already in the works, but other than a couple NF pieces, it was the first thing written from start to finish.

Thankfully, I’m in a much better place emotionally and other books/novellas/stories have and will continue to follow.

Keri's Christmas Wish finaled in OKRWA's 2017 IDA (International Digital Awards) contest and is available @Amazon in Print, Audio and Kindle and through other Online Retailers (Kobo, Apple, B&N, etc) HERE: https://books2read.com/KerisChristmasWish

Hope you enjoyed this peek into Keri's Christmas Wish and that you'll drop by each week for another edition of Saturday Spotlight.

#WednesdayWordswithFriends welcomes T.I. Lowe!

 Good Morning!

Well, we left home yesterday running from Hurricane Laura and praying everyone in her path is safe!

Today's guest has visited before with her Carolina Coast series. So far we've found the story behind the story of Driftwood Dreams and Beach Haven and read excerpts from both on Saturday Spotlight Here and Here. Today we get the scoop on book 3 Sea Glass Castle. Welcome Tonya, I love that title! Please tell us more about your book....

1. What inspired you to write Sea Glass Castle?

There is a double meaning in the title, and both meanings are what inspired this book. As you can imagine, a castle—aka life—made out of glass is considered extremely fragile, and if not enough care is taken, it will shatter. The beauty of sea glass is that it’s actually formed from broken pieces that have gone through a turbulent journey in the ocean. It’s perfectly symbolic for Sophia and Weston’s story.

2. What role does faith play in this story?

I honestly feel like my faith always plays an important part in every story I tell, whether I draw it from inspiration or struggles. I’m human and stumble a lot more than I let on. The stumble I drew inspiration from for this story is having the mind-set of trying to be everything to everyone. It’s not even feasible, and I’ve gotten lost a couple of times while trying to do it. I took that struggle and made it Sophia’s. She tries to maintain the facade of having a perfect marriage, home life, and career. Of course, fissures of truth get past her weakening facade and cause life as she knew it to shatter. She then has to brave rebuilding a new life, being mindful not to make the same mistakes again.

3. Did you face any challenges in writing this story?

Every story comes with its own challenges. The challenge with Sea Glass Castle was bringing two people together who were basically sworn enemies at the beginning of the story, making them agree to “fake” dating, and then figuring out how they stop pretending to be fake. You think you’re confused by my answer, try writing that! LOL. There was nothing smooth about their romance, but that’s the fun of the challenge!

4. What lessons or truths do you hope people take away from Sea Glass Castle?

The Bible verse for this book holds a lot of the truths I wanted to share with people. “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

5. As an author, what did you particularly enjoy about writing this story?

It had to be creating the zany characters: Doc Nelson and Weston’s brother, Seth. Those two cracked me up with the shenanigans they got into. They’re both a great contrast to Weston’s serious role of being a doctor and grown man. I cannot wait for the readers to meet them. Seth would so own it as the lead hero in a book . . .

6. What was the most difficult part of writing this story?

It was devastating to put Weston through tragedies that I never want to face myself. It broke my heart to have to break his, but it had to be done for the story. It was quite rewarding to give him a second chance at not only love but also career and family.

7. Can you tell us about your inspiration for the main character in this book, Sophia Prescott? What about Dr. Weston Sawyer?

Both characters gave me the opportunity to explore backgrounds that I had not done before now in a book: a divorcée and a widower. Sophia is prissy. Weston is prim and proper. Both of which I am not. So their characters were challenging all around, but in a good way. I pushed myself (and probably my editor) with my approach at telling their story in a way that felt realistic.

8. Do you have a favorite scene? If so, explain why.

Of course I have a favorite scene, and of course it includes the Knitting Club! Those spunky hens crash Weston and Sophia’s cooking class date night. And, well, you’ll have to read how they get so carried away that Weston has to drive them home. Funny stuff!

9. Is there any other relationship beside the romance you’d like to share about?

The most endearing relationship I’ve had the pleasure to develop in a story has to be the one between Weston and Collin, Sophia’s three-year-old son. The camaraderie and the bittersweet moments they privately share left me weepy at times.

10. In what ways do you hope this story connects with contemporary Christian women?

Sophia is a contemporary Christian woman who has to face some pretty devastating trials, but she rises above them for the sake of her child. Her determination to do whatever it takes to support her child, which means humbling herself and accepting a new career path, is absolute inspiration. She shows Collin, and readers, that you can overcome obstacles through perseverance and standing firm in your faith.

Tonya “T. I.” Lowe is a native of coastal South Carolina. She attended Coastal Carolina University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she majored in psychology but excelled in creative writing. In 2014, Tonya independently published her first novel, Lulu’s CafĂ©, which quickly became a bestseller. Now the author of twelve published novels with hundreds of thousands of copies sold, she knows she’s just getting started and has many more stories to tell. She resides near Myrtle Beach with her family

Sea Glass Castle can be purchased at Amazon in print and on Kindle and other online and brick & mortar stores where Christian Fiction is available.

Hope you enjoyed today's post friends and that you'll stop by each week for more Wednesday Words with Friends as well as Saturday Spotlight!

Until next time take care, be safe and God bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on My Heart Weeps!

Well Friends, release day is right around the corner and if you're one of my newsletter subscribers (or a very observant blog follower) you'll know that My Heart Weeps blog tour has already begun!

With that in mind, I wanted to spotlight the book for you today....

After thirty years married to the man of her dreams, Melena Rhyker is devastated by her husband's death. Relief comes in the form of an artist's retreat at the Crossed Penn ranch in Utopia, TX. She rediscovers a forgotten dream as her artistic talent flourishes into that of a gallery-worthy artist. Will she have the courage to follow the path she was destined to travel?

Garrett Saunders has been on the run most of his life. Abused and abandoned as a child, he escapes the clutches of a past filled with pain and shame, and hides from his calling as a Native American healer. His years as a CIA agent aid in overcoming his childhood and honing his talent and skill as a fine art photographer.

Follow their journey as two people who come from totally different backgrounds, but share gifts of gigantic proportions, find meaning and purpose in the Texas Hill Country.

Excerpt: Melena parked her truck, pocketed her keys and went on her very first hayride. She admired how Bill Penn wove stories around the history of the area in with feeding the longhorns. Afterward, they travelled to a nearby state natural area where the guests wandered down to a creek and skipped rocks. Melena sat on a small boulder and drew in the scent of fresh, crisp air, earth and flowers.

Sounds magnified in the pristine environment as daylight waned and dusk edged in, leeching color from the sky. The trickling of the stream as it moved across its bed. Plop, plop of stones hitting the water. A quiet laugh. The click of a camera as Garrett wove through the guests taking pictures. A bird trilled in the distance. Doves cooed. Frogs began their evening song accentuated by the occasional hoot of an owl. A hush fell over the entourage and stillness ensued.

Garrett touched her arm and pointed to a thicket across the way. Melena gasped as a doe and fawn stepped out and drank. Once the pair moved on, the group loaded back onto the hay wagon and returned to the ranch. Relaxed and happy, they congregated around the campfire area while Garrett and Bill Penn stacked wood. Soon, a fire lit up the night sky. Crickets and chickadees kept cadence with the country music provided by an outdoor stereo.

~ ~ ~

Since I LOVE the Texas Hill Country so much, I wanted you to get a taste of it. You won't find this excerpt anywhere else on the tour!

My Heart Weeps is on sale for a limited time @ 99cents and FREE on Kindle Unlimited.

I would love for this book to hit Amazon's best seller lists. Wouldn't you?

#SaturdaySpotlight is on @kmdaughters and Fill the Stadium!

Good Morning!

I pray your weekend and Easter celebrations are going well.

Our guests today are not new to us. KM Daughters shared some thoughts with us in Feb and treasures in Jan and in both visits, we talked about their latest release, a WF novel, Fill the Stadium.

Well today you're getting a glimpse into the story!

So without much further ado...here are Pat and Kathie AKA: KM Daughters!

K.M. Daughters is the penname for team writers and sisters, Pat Casiello and Kathie Clare nee Lynch. The author name is dedicated to the memory of their parents, Katherine and Michael, the "K" and "M" in K.M. Daughters. Inspired by their father who wrote children's books for them when they were small and their mother's love of romance novels, K.M. Daughters was "born" in 2005 at a Romance Writers of America national conference when the sisters plotted their first manuscript.

K.M. Daughters has published twelve award-winning novels garnering rave reviews. RT Book Reviews magazine awarded a 4-star, "Compelling, Page Turner..." rating to BEYOND THE CODE OF CONDUCT, CAPTURING KARMA and ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND LAW.

RT Book Reviews awarded ROSE OF THE ADRIATIC 4 1/2 stars! "Fantastic...", and the final installment in the Sullivan Boys Romantic Suspense Series: IN THE ST. NICK OF TIME, rated 4 1/2 stars by RT Book Reviews - "FANTASTIC, A KEEPER".

THE SNOWS, an Amazon Kindle Select book is the author's first women's fiction novel with inspirational elements.

Nikki Lambert’s husband purposely stalls his truck in the path of the midnight freight on the same day her eldest son, Jack, is diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. Injured NFL quarterback, Ramsey Delaney is benched from his starting position leaving him ample time for more hands-on involvement in The Good Sports Club, a community center he established where Nikki’s sons, Jack and Rocky are enrolled. Jack’s deteriorating motor skills concern Ram’s employees who bar Jack from attending the club without Ram’s knowledge. Nikki wants nothing but normalcy for Jack and she heatedly confronts Ram for depriving her son of a beloved activity. Ram immediately reinstates Jack forging the fateful bond between Nikki and her boys’ number-one sports hero. Ram is instantly attracted to Nikki. He wants to win her heart more than he’s ever wanted to win a game. But after her husband’s terrible abandonment will Nikki trust Ram’s motives and open her heart to love again?

Excerpt:
John, I should have…Done what? Foreseen that John would ride off in the night after the Tylenol P.M. dose he had suggested finally worked on her? Understood that John couldn’t face a life without his son and begged him not to drive his truck onto the tracks and turn off the engine? This was no accident. He left her to raise their two little boys and to face Jack’s illness alone. The man that she thought she knew had turned his back on her with stunning, cruel finality. She had no idea that her husband was capable of something so monstrous.

FILL THE STADIUM, mainstream women's fiction, is K.M. Daughters' newest release and is available on Amazon in Paperback and for Kindle, Barnes and Noble and at All Romance Ebooks!

#ThursdayThoughts: #EggcerptExchange with Linda K. Sienkiewicz

Good Morning and Welcome to the first Thursday Thoughts of March!

Today is another Eggcerpt Exchange post and a new-to-me author so I'll just hop right in and introduce her to you....

Author Linda K. Sienkiewicz attributes her creative drive to her artistic mother, who taught her to sew, and her father, who let her monkey around with the gadgets in his workshop. Her short stories and poetry have been published in more than fifty literary journals in print and online. She has a poetry chapbook award from Bottom Dog Press, a Pushcart Prize nomination, and an MFA from The University of Southern Maine.

What makes us step back to examine the events and people that have shaped our lives? And what happens when what we discover leads to more questions? In the Context of Love revolves around the journey of Angelica Schirrick as she reevaluates her life, and its direction.
Returning with her children from their first visit with her now imprisoned husband, she tries to figure out where it all went so wrong. Can she face the failures and secrets of her past and move forward? Can she find love and purpose again? Her future, which once held so much promise, crumbled like dust after the mysterious disappearance of her first love, and the shattering revelation that derailed her life, and divided her parents. Only when she finally learns to accept the violence of her beginning can she be open to life again, and maybe to a second chance at love.
Jacquelyn Mitchard, author of #1 NYTimes Bestseller, DEEP END OF THE OCEAN, says: “With humor and tenderness, but without blinking, Linda K. Sienkiewicz turns her eye on the predator-prey savannah of the young and still somehow hopeful.”
Bonnie Jo Campbell, author of Michigan Notable Book MOTHERS TELL YOUR DAUGHTERS, says “Sienkiewicz’s powerful and richly detailed debut novel is at once a love story, a cautionary tale, and an inspirational journey. It should be required reading for all wayward daughters, and their mothers, too.”
Excerpt from In the Context of Love:
I lay, stomach down, on my bed with my head hanging off the edge. I was an analytical person, a conscientious honor roll student, a quick learner. I’d studied literature, ancient history, read Shakespeare and Salinger, yet none of it, nothing, had given me the skills or words to make sense of this.
The following morning, I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had opened my curtains to an ash-filled sky, charred houses, trees burnt to stubs, the ground still smoking. Instead, the sun had risen like a relentless machine, and the sky wafted like a freshly-washed blue sheet above us. My house was the same house, with the same eggshell white ceilings, dark wooden floors and braided rugs. The only difference: I understood reality was a dark beast, capable of shifting under my feet.
I fingered the silk edge of my blanket, trying to reframe my past in light of what I now understood to be the truth. Everything I’d thought about myself had been a falsehood. In many ways, our family operated like any other family. Dad paid the bills, fertilized the lawn, and kept us free from foot pain. Mom knitted and purled, chased after flesh-eating germs, and smothered me until the sound of my own name made me cringe. We played Uncle Wiggly and Chutes and Ladders. I went trick-or-treating on Halloween. I had a sandbox. I pushed my plastic baby doll in her flimsy buggy back and forth along the sidewalk while squirrels scolded me from the trees. We had two cars, one and a half baths, and a color television. Hot and cold water. Electricity. We ate pot roast on Sunday, spaghetti on Wednesday, and tuna casserole every Friday and we weren’t even Catholic.
My friend Becca was terrified to stay in the house alone with her addled grandfather because he would forget who she was and try to kick her out. Lizzy was ashamed to be seen with her mother, who was so obese she couldn’t walk to their mailbox without wheezing. Jessica’s father owned a motel where a man was found shot in the head in room thirty-six. Paige suspected her parents were swingers who went to sex parties. Skip seemed to have been deserted by his folks…
Yet, I was certain no one’s family had a secret as hideous as mine.
In the Context of Love won an Honorable Mention in the Great Midwest Book Festival. The book can be purchased in paperback or ebook on Amazon in Print and for Kindle. Also at Barnes and Noble http://bit.ly/1QFs340
Here’s an interview with Angelica Schirrick, the heroine from In the Context of Love:
1. Do you have a nickname?
I’ve been called troublemaker, short stuff, hot stuff, cupcake, angel, and hure (by my German grandmother — don’t ask why), but most people call me Angie.
2. What do you do for a living?
I’m pleased to say I’m the marketing and community service director for Safe Harbor, a non-profit women’s domestic violence shelter in Cleveland, Ohio. I love the work I do.
3. What’s your most important goal?
To see my two children grow up to be happy and well-adjusted, despite having an activist for a mother and a felon for a father.
4. What’s your worst fear or nightmare?
That my two children do not grow up to be happy and well-adjusted.
5. What’s your most embarrassing moment?
When I was a teen, I was furious with my parents and had this need to get away from them, so I snatched the keys to my dad’s Lincoln and took off. I don’t know what I was thinking because I didn’t have a license or much driving experience. I lost control and drove the car into a fir tree in the Brecksville Metropark. I was okay but the Lincoln was not.

Wow...sounds like an interesting book! Thanks for sharing with us Linda!

Remember Friends, the Eggcerpt Exchange blog hop ends March 31st and there are a bunch of authors participating. You can check out each book on my Pinterest board.  Also, if you're new to this blog, check back each week for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight.
Until next time, take care and God Bless.

#ThursdayThoughts: Guest Post by @kmdaughters!

Good Morning Friends,

It is with great pleasure I bring back to our blog, KM Daughters who are sharing some very special thoughts with us....

As little girls we idolized our dad. He worked three jobs for much of his career to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. We didn’t have much in economic terms, but looking back on our childhood we agree that we had everything we needed and that we were rich in the love our parents lavished on us.

We couldn’t afford a car, so taking walks together as a family was major entertainment. Those frequent expeditions on foot taught us to appreciate togetherness and inspired our love of nature.
Another childhood joy inspired us – listening to the children’s stories Daddy wrote for us.

He carried a steno book everywhere with him and whenever he had a few minutes downtime, whether waiting for a bus or a break from one of his jobs, he wrote. His stories set our imaginations soaring.

Many years later we continue the tradition of walking and talking. On one of our sister walks, K.M. Daughters created the storyline for our first book, Reunion for the First Time (Coming in 2016 from The Wild Rose Press). Every book since has started the same way – walking together on Prairie Paths, along a sandy beach, uphill on mountain paths or suburban sidewalks like the days we strolled hand in hand with our father.

We can’t help feeling that Daddy is still with us on those walks inspiring his daughters to weave tales of their own.

#TuesdayTreasures: Guest post by KM Daughters!

Good Morning!

It is with great pleasure I bring you the following Tuesday Treasure....

Hi Pam! We are especially happy to be with you and your followers today of all days – January 26th. On this date in 2008 K.M. Daughters sold their first book to a publisher in the morning (JEWEL OF THE ADRIATIC to White Rose Publishing) and their second book to a publisher in the afternoon (AGAINST DOCTORS ORDERS to The Wild Rose Press)! It was a thrilling day for us as team writers and sisters.

After faith and family, sisterhood is a treasure that we prize. We have different personalities and very different life experiences, but the common history of being raised together by our beloved parents provides us with a bedrock of shared values and very similar ways of looking at the world with gratitude.

We believe that Faith is best defined as Love, with a capital “L” – healing, fulfilling, a treasure beyond compare. Those themes repeat in all our stories. The power of love in all its forms to heal even the most broken hearts is the central theme in our new book, Fill The Stadium. Per a recent review, “A touching, heartbreaking, yet inspiring story, with a bit of romance mixed in.”
Yes! This comment affirms our desire to satisfy and hopefully delight our readers. Our fans are treasures to us, also!

The Reviews are Coming In!

Hello Friends!
Well this is the information I've longed to post about for months now LOL!

As you all are aware I contracted my debut Women's Fiction novel, The Visionary in July 2010 with Five Star Expressions. It has been a long road, but things are finally starting to happen. On June 15th I received the Advanced Review Copies (ARC) along with release date and other info!
Here's what the ARC looks like - this is NOT the actual cover ~ I am still working with the artist to perfect the artwork for the cover jacket!
ADVANCE READING COPY~UNCORRECTED PROOF~NOT FOR SALE

Advance praise for The Visionary:
“Pamela has written a heart-warming story that tackles tough issues in a satisfying way. Books that leave the reader feeling that good are rare. A job well done.” —Mirella Patzer, author of Bloodstone Castle
“Once again, I am struck by Ms. Thibodeaux’s ability to create realistic characters and situations that both portray things the way they truly are for Christians and honor God, while never becoming graphic. This story in particular tackles tough, dark, gritty subjects, not the least of which being how difficult forgiveness can be. It is a true crime she is not on the New York Times bestseller list; the world desperately needs to read things like this timely, relevant tale.” —Amanda Killgore, reviewer for Huntress Reviews & Mists and Stars
Publisher: Five Star, a part of Gale Cengage Learning
ISBN#: 978-1-4328-2549-2    Release Date: 11/16/2011   Sale Date: 12/7/2011

Anyway, I began sending out these ARC's to readers and review sites~Today I'm happy to share with you my first review by my friend and yours ~ Winona Bennett Cross, President of the Red River Romance Writers—Chapter 124 RWA, Wichita Falls, TX.
Pamela S. Thibodeaux debuts her inspirational women’s fiction novel, THE VISIONARY in time for Christmas. Fraternal twins Taylor and Trevor Forrestier share a successful architectural and design firm in Lake Charles, LA. The twins are close, but closed to others. Their successes and outward appearances belie a nightmarish past. Alex Broussard, a client and Pam LeBlanc, their office manager, fall in love with Taylor and Trevor. They are strong support systems for the emotionally fragile twins. THE VISIONARY is a story of surviving hell, dealing with hatred, lack of trust, betrayal of the utmost sort, and pain. The paths Taylor and Trevor traverse are never smooth. Faith and forgiveness through tragedies in their past and the present lead each of them on separate healing journeys. They finally find and accept unconditional love at the end of the tortuous road. As far as this reviewer is aware she has read everything Ms. Thibodeaux has had published . . .The Tempered Series, The Inheritance, and several well-crafted short stories but it is my belief that THE VISIONARY will be Ms. Thibodeaux’s break-out novel. Ms. Thibodeaux is deserving of a place on the New York Times Bestseller List in her category. THE VISIONARY was clearly divinely inspired. Writing about abuse in any form must be done delicately and cautiously. The messages within the covers of THE VISIONARY offer hope to readers who have experienced or are experiencing abuse. It offers insight to readers who have not experienced such things. It offers healing. Most importantly, it delineates the path toward hope and healing. This reviewer, a retired Registered Nurse, believes crisis centers, counselors, psychiatrists, and others who work with those suffering abuse can successfully use this novel. The words crafted by Ms. Thibodeaux are filled with promise. Ms. Thibodeaux has been tagged as “inspirational with an edge.” Her words portray real-life issues for Christians. Her characters are human.
Thank You Nona!
