Saturday Spotlight - KM Daughters!
Hello and Welcome to another edition of Saturday Spotlight!
Today I'd like to introduce to you a pair of sisters who write a variety of books - romance of course....from sensual to Inspirational they do it all. This week we are spotlighting their White Rose title, Jewel of the Adriatic. Without much further ado....KM Daughters!
K.M. Daughters is the award winning writing team of sisters, Pat Casiello and Kathie Clare. Their penname is dedicated to the memory of their parents: Kay and Mickey Lynch. Pat is married to Nick Casiello and has three children, Jen, Emilie and Brian. Kathie is married to Tom Clare and has two sons, Tom and Michael. She has two grandchildren, Natalie and Michael and a new grandbaby is expected in September. K.M. Daughters’ career began with two book contracts from The Wild Rose Press and White Rose Publishing on the same day – January 26, 2008. Three more book contracts followed in 2008 in three romance genres: Inspirational, Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romance. The Visions of Love inspirational series features Jewel of the Adriatic and Rose of the Adriatic. The author’s romantic suspense Sullivan Boys series includes: Against Doctors Orders, Beyond The Code of Conduct, Capturing Karma and working titles: All’s Fair In Love and Law and In The St. Nick of Time.
A nightgown model and a soap opera star meet in Valselo, a Croatian village where millions believe the Mother of God appears to three visionaries. Yugoslavian born Maya Lidovic owns Intimate Whispers, a New York based sleepwear company. Determined not to lose her faith in a secular world, she spends her vacations leading tours in Valselo where her parents run an inn. Colin O'Reilly plays heartthrob, Dr. Brock Stone, on the soap opera Tides Of Tomorrow. Through various setbacks in life he's managed to keep God first. But now he's furious at God for taking his mother. Colin doesn't believe that God has sent the Virgin Mary to earth with messages of hope. He doesn't believe that God cares about the world. A series of apparitions, prophetic dreams and earthy attraction draw these different people together. Human frailties obscure the intention of the call that brought them to their destinies.

A series of apparitions, prophetic dreams and earthy attraction draw these different people together. Human frailties obscure the intention of the call that brought them to their destinies. Excerpt: Colin swept her up in his arms again. "See you back at the house, Tom." She swayed and bobbled with the herky-jerky motion.
"You can't carry me down the mountain. I'm too heavy. You'll hurt yourself."
"Only if you keep wiggling around."He landed awkwardly, and her stomach dove. "Colin!" She buried her head in his neck. "I'm scared."
"Don't be. I've got you." His breath was warm against her ear. "Just stay like that, close to me. Keep as still as you can; it'll help me balance." He squeezed her tighter in his arms. "I'll keep you safe."
She breathed easier locked against him like that. She heard his heartbeat hammer from his exertion, and the steady drumming soothed her.
"I could get used to this," he said.
"I could get used to this," he said.
She raised her head slowly. "What, carrying people down all the hills and mountains in Valselo?"
"No." He smiled. "I could get used to having you in my arms."
She felt tongue-tied. What should she say? Should she admit that there was no place she would rather be? That she had never felt so safe and protected? She wanted to trust him but how could she after the sting of his display with Brianna?
"Wouldn't you rather have Brianna in your arms?"
"Brianna?" His baffled look gave her a jolt of pleasure. "Why in the world would you think that?"
He hopped down, and for a moment her legs and shoulders flew out of his hold. The freefall sensation was as unsettling as it was exhilarating. She could do this; she could confront him.
"She said you were in her room this morning, and that's why you missed breakfast. And she hung all over you on the path."
"I was in her room." Down, down some more, he didn't break stride. "She twisted the knob off the air conditioner and asked if I could help her put it back on. It took me two minutes. I don't know why she couldn't do it herself."
He stopped short and caught his breath. "Wait a minute," he said with a bemused expression.
Well folks, KM Daughters, Kathie and Pat will join us again with their other titles. IMW, if you want to know more, visit their website. Jewel of the Adriatic can be purchased in ebook or print from White Rose Publishing!

Saturday Spotlight - Dianne Miley!
Good Morning Friends!
So good to see you here again for another Saturday Spotlight. Today's guest is fellow TWRP/WRP author, Dianne Miley and her book, Lilacs for Laura.
Growing up, I always loved to write. I began writing poetry in second grade. During high school, I wrote for the yearbook and school paper. I took creative writing classes because I enjoyed making up stories. Now I flex my imagination through inspiring tales of romance and mystery. Best of all, I’ve found a way to share my faith through fictional characters in a fun romance.
In real life, I've been married to my high school sweetheart for over 25 years. God blessed us with both a son and daughter who are now grown and in college.
Besides writing and promoting my books, I write a newspaper column called Time to Enjoy for the Geauga County Maple Leaf. In addition, my husband and I own a small auto transport trucking company. I handle the accounting and secretarial work, as well as delivering cars occasionally.
In my spare time – ha! – I enjoy gardening, flower arranging, decorating, cooking, baking, and entertaining. I also love visiting tea rooms and quaint little shops like the ones in Crystal Falls. A collector of teapots, teacups, and pretty old dishes, I adore using them to host tea parties for family and friends. See the Fun page of my website for favorite tea party recipes of one of the characters in the Crystal Falls series. (All women after my own heart.)
Laura James loves working in her family’s flower shop, but has to ward off advances from her brother-in-law. She distrusts men but cannot deny her attraction when she stumbles into Brett Mitchell. Drawn to one another despite their conflicting goals, Laura longs for a secure future in her Ohio hometown, while Brett yearns for adventure and an escape from his abusive father. When he lands a NASCAR job in North Carolina, Laura fears she will never see him again.
Devastated, she withdraws just when she needs help most. Her brother-in-law is murdered and all evidence points to Laura. Brett knows members of her family, as well as the town gossip share motive and opportunity. Will he return to help clear her? Who will reveal the killer in a shocking twist? And will Laura ever find security in love?
EXCERPT:
Laura James froze in her tracks.
Good heavens, was that Brett Mitchell in the gazebo? Back in high school, every girl in Crystal Falls had a crush on him. He graduated a year ahead of her, in her sister's class, and had left for college.
Handsome as ever in a uniform shirt and jeans, he wolfed down a sandwich. Laura hadn’t expected him to return to Crystal Falls, especially not with a father like his.
She heard a noise behind her, and a sudden, sharp pain pinched her behind. With a shout, she leapt into the air and whirled around.
“Ahhhh!” She flailed her arms at the oversized bird. It headed for her sandwich. Laura swung her purse at a wing. The swan dodged flying makeup and keys.
“Awwwk!” With beady eyes aimed for attack, its long white neck thrust toward her.

Laura threw her purse at the bird and turned to run. The swan bit her butt again. She yelped and ran, looking back as it nipped at her heels.
Suddenly she hit a wall of hard flesh. Strong arms lifted her off the ground. She spun around and landed with Brett Mitchell between her and the swan.
His nearness took her breath away.

Saturday Spotlight - Karen Cogen
It's that time again....time for another Saturday Spotlight!
Karen Cogan has a background in elementary education and has written children’s books, (one of which recently won the Moonbeam Award for best multicultural story), as well as many articles and stories. She has novels published in the writes inspirational, contemporary and historical romance genres. Karen lives in the Southwest, where she enjoys the opportunity for outdoor activities with her husband, children, and enough assorted pets to fill a small zoo.
Julie had trust issues from a previous romance. Therefore, when she met the new church counselor, romance was the last thing on her mind. Yet, something about him captivated her. He was gentle and fun loving, patient, and had a good sense of humor. And, he was a widower with a young daughter who tugged at Julie’s maternal instincts. He seemed to be a good father and a devoted believer. In spite of herself, Julie was falling in love. She never imagined that a crisis would arise and that all the traits she loved might drive a wedge between them. Could he be trusted or would he break her heart?
Julie fought the urge to elbow Gina for her un-requested offering of information. Yet, as the counselor engulfed her hand in his warm grip, she had to fight the urge to like him.
She didn’t want to like him. She didn’t even want to talk to him. And yet, when he released her hand, she felt an odd twinge of disappointment.

Fairytale Birthday
Every little girl dreams of meeting a Princess - every little girl is designed by God to BE a princess!
Can you see the awe on her face when Princess Aurora started walking toward her! Her mom said, "Someone else is here to wish you happy birthday." Bryanna climbed off the bench, her eyes wide with wonder and whispered, "A Princess."
Well my Angel Girl's (granddaughter Bryanna) birthday party was Sunday, and her dreams came true!
Here's a few photos.....

March Madness Sale!
Hey Friends!
In conjunction with my new release, Winter Madness, which releases Tomorrow @ White Rose Publishing, the Inspirational imprint of The Wild Rose Press, I'm having a month-long sale on The Inheritance!
Blurb: Sienna has survived what most succomb to - the death of a spouse and child and has maintained her faith despite her troubles. William has never met anyone who actually lived out what they say they believe. Is it true love between the faithful optimist and broody pessimist or simply winter madness?
Excerpt: They met on a cold winter morning in a cozy coffee shop. Not just the tinkle of the bell above the door announced his arrival, but also the quickening of her heart, the slow thud of blood through her veins, the sharp curl of need in the pit of her stomach. Even before she saw him, she knew the minute he’d walked in. A dream from her past.
He turned; their eyes met.
William’s eyes widened, and his breath caught. There she sat all soft and glowing. A ghost from his past. He hesitated, blew a soft rush of air to cool the steaming brew he’d just purchased. A sigh escaped followed by a resigned shrug. There was no way out of the meeting now. Only a few steps separated them physically, miles emotionally. One hurdle at a time, he thought, and joined her at the table for two beside the window.
Well that's about it for today. Until next time.....
Take care and Be Blessed!

Saturdy Spotlight - Kara Lynn Russell!
Well Folks, you're in for a REAL treat today with our guest, Kara Lynn Russell.
Kara is the author of the Orchard Hill series published by White Rose Publishing. Here's a little bit about the series...... Pansy Parker and Misty Green are rivals in romance. Each believes she is the town’s best matchmaker. Now they’re going to settle the question for once and for all. They’re keeping track to see who can make the most matches in a year’s time. Both Misty and Pansy are determined to be the winner. No heart is safe in Orchard Hill – not even their own.
Book 1 - Saving Gracie: Riley O’Neil and Grace Randall have been best friends since kindergarten and Pansy knows they belong together. After Grace’s fiancée leaves her at the altar, Riley decides it’s time to tell her he wants to be more than friends. Grace is still reeling from her fiancée’s betrayal. She fears that if she and Riley start dating, it will ruin their friendship – and right now Riley’s friendship is something she can’t spare. A new year is coming up and it’s the perfect time for a fresh start. Will Grace take a chance on love with Riley?

What can I tell you about this wonderful lady? Well, how about....She's married to the man who puts the happy in my ever after. The mother of four (and still mostly sane) lives in a small Wisconsin town in the heart of dairy country. Currently works at the local public library. Loves reading genre books: romance, fantasy, and mysteries with a special fondness for those with a Christian slant. She writes romance and children’s stories and loves making lists. You can find out more about Kara at her website or blog. Kara is also the founder of the White Roses in Bloom blog.

Busy, Busy, Busy!
I had no clue what to write about today so decided I'd just sit down and tell you what I've been doing.
The White Roses in Bloom Authors are sprucing up our blog and I've been working on that along with Kara Lynn Russell and Nicola Beaumont. We've created a Yahoo Loop to discuss promotion, changed the template and colors, and revised the sidebars. I've also made a calendar for whose turn to post on the blog so exposure and hopefully traffic will increase.
If you're looking to find more inspirational authors, run over to the blog and check us out!
I've also been preparing for a couple more promotional activities. In Feburary, I'll be the Featured White Rose at LASR and in April I'll be spotlighted in the Self/POD Publishing column in Christian Fiction Online Magazine.
At Bayou Writers Group meeting on Saturday, Jan. 3rd we set goals for 2009. I talked about that a little in a previous post but being asked to write them down forced me to be a little more specific, so here they are....
Revise/Resubmit Christmas story - Season of Miracles
Complete Editing - Circles of Fate
Revise/lengthen/strengthen - Lori's Redemption
At least START new novel
Promote, promote, promote :-)
One personal goal - get to ideal weight. (who doesn't resolve to do this? LOL!)
Email me anytime to check the status of those goals.
Until later....take care, God Bless and remember....a good book takes you places you've never been and gives you insight into another life.
Don't forget - Saturday's Spotlight is on Liana Laverentz and her novel Jake's Return so stop on by!
