Saturday, I shared some vacation memories from the TX leg of our West Coast trip. Today I'd like to share treasures found in Santa Fe, NM....
Santa Fe is HUGE in the arts so if you love to look and shop and gaze at sculptures, paintings and museums - it's a mega treat for you.
I love art but not enough to spend hours traipsing about in the heat to simply gaze. However, I did get to visit 4 historic places....
#1: San Miguel Chapel....The Oldest church in the United States. Filled with history, it is still an active place of worship today.
#2: Loretto Chapel....the church with the miraculous staircase. I tell you this was my favorite place despite the commercialism of it. They have an entire hotel, spa and other businesses attached and associated with the chapel, and it is definitely a stunning site. This statue of Jesus is absolutely breathtaking and His eyes truly reflect the love He has for you! No trip to Santa Fe is complete without visiting this gorgeous place of worship.
#3: The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis is one of my favorite saints of all time. His Peace Prayer, is absolutely life changing. Everything about this cathedral was beyond description. Again, despite the commercialism of the place, you could really feel the presence of God and St. Francis in this holy place.
We also visited the DeVargas Street House (the oldest house in Santa Fe) and ate at Upper Crust Pizza.
All in all, our trip to Santa Fe was amazing and definitely memories to treasure!
Next week I'll share some photos from Sedona and the Grand Canyon so please check back for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight.
Until next time, take care and God Bless!

You have some very nice photos in these travel posts, Pam. Makes me want to hit the road with my camera and find interesting places to visit.
What a wonderful trip. I love the west. And Santa Fe is such a unique place. It's been years since I was there. Your post and photos make me want to go back.

The San Xavier Mission (to the Tohono O'odham people) in Tucson, AZ is another old and beautiful place to visit. It was established in the late 1600s and is still active today. It's also known as "The White Dove in the Desert." http://www.sanxaviermission.org/Index.html
We are indeed blessed with a beautiful country and sites worth visiting.
Wow, beautiful! A good friend of mine, Amanda McCabe, moved to Sante Fe a few years ago and I've been meaning to visits. Sounds like a wonderful place. So glad you're having a good trip!
Gorgeous pix! I have seen the Loretta staircase on TV and hope to see the real thing someday. As for Sedona, it's artsie too but the red rock formations especially Cathedral Rock are stunning. Don't miss chapel of the Holy Cross.
If you get to Williams, taking the antique train to the Rim is great fun--there will be outlaws!
Enjoy and stay cool. xoxo
Yes, Peggy we are! We didn't get that far south in AZ this trip....maybe next time!
You need to go Alicia! Great place to pick up ideas for writing (tax write off too) ;-)
Didn't visit the church this time, Tanya but did get a pic of it! Loved the Red Rock formations!! Sedona is absolutely gorgeous! I'll be sharing those pics soon.
Thanks Ladies!
Good luck and God's blessings to ALL of you!

Lovely photos, Pam. Hubs isn't big on a lot of art museum, but I dragged him to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. I couldn't believe how small (physically) some of her paintings are. When you see them online, they seem bigger. I agree about not walking around too much in the heat. Take care.
You obviously had a great trip. Lovely photos!
Yeah, Diane, it can be HOT....up to 120 in Death Valley!
We're having a great one, Jacquie...and it's only begun...lots of places to see before we get back to Louisiana.
Thanks for dropping by ladies!
Good luck and God's blessing to you 2 also!

Gorgeous pics!
We visited Santa Fe this past winter and found it a mecca for art and a great place to buy custom-made jewelry, pottery, and other items crafted by native Americans there. Cannot wait to go back!
Thanks Maureen!
It is a treasure trove of that, Susan!
Thanks ladies for stopping by
