#WednesdayWordswithFriends Me Catching up with YOU!

Good Morning Friends

Well, looks like we get two spots in a row on the blog to catch up. I spotlighted The Visionary on Saturday because my scheduled guest could not be here. Today I'm SO excited to tell you that I FINALLY finished Kyleigh's Cowboy!

The novella is off to 2 editors for final read-through. The cover is nearly perfected (I'll share it with you soon) and I'm in the process of putting it up for pre-order. I'll keep you apprised on that too!

Meanwhile, here is the blurb and a placeholder cover I created just for kicks....

She’s attempting to start a new life. He’s roamed for more than a decade. Can they let go of the past and grab hold of the future?

Seven years after the death of her husband, Kyleigh Winters turned their old vacation home into a brand new guest ranch. Not willing to join the ranks of lonely women trolling the bars or online in search of a man, Kyleigh is sure if God wishes her to have another husband, He’ll send the perfect someone in His own time. But will she be open to the possibility of new love when He does?

Searching for a place that calls to his soul, Lance Stevens has been a roaming cowboy for ten years since retiring from the Marines. He finds that sanctuary the moment he drives through the Silver Star’s gate and meeting the lovely owner speaks to more than his soul. Will he open to the healing power of love?

Get Pamela Thibodeaux's second chance romance novella today and see how love and faith conquers all.

Hope you enjoyed this peek at what very well may be my last book for a while.

Until next time, take care and God bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on The Visionary

Good Morning,

My scheduled guest was not able to be here today so, since I spoke with my narrator yesterday and went over some of those Cajun names she'll need to know to record The Visionary for audio book, I thought I'd do a spotlight on the novel.

Will the ugly secret haunting the twins keep them from finding true love?

While most visionaries see into the future, Taylor sees the past. but only as it pertains to her work. Hailed by her peers as “a visionary with an instinct for beauty and an eye for the unique” Taylor is undoubtedly a brilliant architect and gifted designer. But she and twin brother Trevor, share more than a successful business. The two share a childhood wrought with lies and deceit and the kind of abuse that’s disturbingly prevalent in today’s society.

Can the love of God and the awesome healing power of His grace and mercy free the twins from their past and open their hearts to the good plan and the future He has for their lives?

Fans of Redeeming Love will appreciate this contemporary story of the awesome power of God to heal the most wounded of souls.

Excerpt: Pam giggled. “And how are things with you and Alex?” she asked her eyebrow arched with interest.

Taylor chuckled. “He’s very sweet and very good with kids.”

“And sexy?”

Taylor flushed. “Not exactly the tall, dark, and handsome type is he? When you consider he’s not more than five foot eight or nine inches tall and a little generous around the middle.”

“Maybe not,” Pam remarked. “But there’s a lot to be said for short and sexy.”

Taylor smiled at the analogy. Her mind returned to the man in question. He wasn’t really overweight or sloppy, but neither did he sport washboard abs. Probably due to his profession and the fact he preferred rice and gravy to lettuce and tomatoes, she thought with another smile.

“There is something about him,” she ventured. “Those bright hazel eyes that laugh and mock and never miss a thing. Have you noticed they alternate between golden brown or light green?”

Pam shook her head. “Not really. What else have you noticed about him?”

Taylor flushed with a tiny laugh. “Everything. The trim, neat mustache; the curve of lips that smile easily and often; that meticulously groomed, sandy-colored hair makes my fingers itch to run through it. He possesses oodles and oodles of charm and charisma by the case. And his voice, soft and husky and...” She shivered at the thought of the throaty lilt. “He always sounds as though he’s just rolled out of bed.”

Pam laughed. “Yeah, but he always seems so together. Even yesterday, when everyone else dressed in baggy sweats, ragged jeans, and tattered T’s, his casual slacks were well pressed, and his shoes polished to a spit shine.”

Taylor sighed, her lips curved. “I know. I’m not sure exactly what it is about him that’s so attractive, but when I figure it out, I’ll let you know.

The Visionary can be purchased in Ebook and Print from your favorite online retailer HERE and will be available in Audio late October/early November.

Hope you enjoyed this excerpt and that you'll check back each week for Wednesday Words with Friends and another Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time take care and God bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on The Visionary

Hello There Friends,

My scheduled guest could not be here today and I don't have a substitute author so I'm going to share with you the new cover and blurb for The Visionary.

Let's start with current cover and blurb....

Find out in…The Visionary ~ Where the power of God's love heals the most wounded of souls.

#WednesdayWordswithFriends..... I am D.O.N.E!

I'd wish you a good morning and for all intents and purposes it IS a good one....supposed to be lovely weather today, I've been home nearly a week since running from Hurricane Laura....

BUT

Here we go again. Hurricane Delta is heading right for Louisiana and although the "projected" track is East of me, we're still going to feel it's impact.

I'd hoped to share good news with you but not much has happened in a week. Still playing catchup and if we have to evacuate again, I'll be doing that for the rest of the year.

UGH.

Prayers appreciated and while you're praying, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and my friend and fellow Pelican Book Group author, Barbara Britton, has a post about Managing Publication with Cancer. I think you'll find it interesting and encouraging.

It is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. If you haven't read Tempered Dreams or The Visionary you're missing out on great stories of hope that deal with this issue.

Get a peek into my window and a peek into Tempered Truth on DV Stone's blog today!

Oh, before I forget, the winner of September's gift card is

Liz Flaherty!

Not much else to talk about Friends. I hope you have a blessed day and that you'll check back weekly for Wednesday Words with Friends and Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time take care, be safe and God bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Erin Lorence & Fantastic Surviving!

Good Morning!

Have I got some exciting news for you! I'll share that at the bottom of today's post but first please welcome Erin Lorence back to share her book, Fantastic Surviving (#2 in the Dove Strong trilogy).

The Reclaim begins May 15th, and sixteen-year-old Dove Strong can’t do a thing to stop it... or can she? With only weeks until her people attack the unsuspecting nonbelievers, Dove accepts her recommission for peace.  Her journey is a success... until she runs into an old nemesis. Then a family member dies, and she is arrested as a terrorist as well as the prime murder suspect. Dove’s punishment? She must survive the unforgiving Chihuahuan Desert under the judging eye of every television-owning nonbeliever in the country. Saddled with a hostile camera crew, Dove fights to reach civilization while enduring Satan’s elements as well as a mysterious Amhebran coder who haunts her steps. Dove is strong. But is her faith strong enough to survive an ultimate friend betrayal as well as a decision of whether to sacrifice another family member to stop the May 15th attack?

Excerpt:

We huddled together. Someone swallowed. Someone else’s breathing was too loud. Minutes passed. Would we still be rooted here when morning dawned, held hostage by this wild animal with a vendetta? I couldn’t take this waiting game.

I chin-gestured at Wolfe. “You. Jump on Darcy.”

“What?”

“Shh. Like you did on that cougar in Texas.” I didn’t take my eyes off of the Benders’ pet [Darcy the bobcat].

“Geesh, Dove. I had the element of surprise—"

“Then move fast...” I gave him a one-handed shove forward, “and surprise her.”

My mistake because that small movement triggered the feline. She sprang.

Erin Lorence lives in Bonney Lake, Washington with her husband, Brian, and their two daughters, Brooke and Savannah. Her lifelong love of reading, her gratitude to God, and her enjoyment of hiking in Central Oregon all inspired her to write the Dove Strong Trilogy.

Find out more by visiting Erin's Website and Blog or connecting with her on Facebook.

Get your copy of Fantastic Surviving on Amazon.

Hope you enjoyed today's post. Check out Erin's previous spotlight on Dove Strong (book 1 in the trilogy).

Now for my exciting news....

Join me at 8am on Discover the Story for an interview with Andrea Boeshaar on my novel, The Visionary. Discover the Story also airs on iHeartRadio later today, so if you're a fan/listener of iHeartRadio, PLEASE listen in!

The Visionary will also be featured on Sorchia Dubios's blog Monday and just received a 4-Star review from Readers Favorite! While you're checking out the review, enter Readers Favorite's monthly giveaway for a chance to win a Kindle copy of The Visionary.

Oh and one more bit of news....I just approved the first 15 minutes of Tempered Dreams audio! Hopefully it won't be long until we have a release of the audio version!

As you can see, lots of exciting things going on! Hope you'll drop by weekly for Wednesday Words with Friends and Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time, take care and God bless.

Happy New Year!

Well we made it to LOL!

2018 is history and 2019 filled with promise. This is a time when most people reflect on the past twelve months, reevaluate their lives and plan for the future.

If you're doing that today, I'd like to offer you a bit of encouragement.

Dream Big - because all of heaven is dreaming with you!

Believe in Yourself and Your Dreams.

Imagine the life you'd love to live, seek God's wisdom and direction then take the actions inspired during your time with Him.

Most of all, remember to infuse every thought, word, action, deed and dream with LOVE because of all of the emotions we feel, LOVE is the greatest. Even God said so in 1 Corinthians 13:13 ....

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Here's wishing you and yours a most Blessed and Prosperous 2019.

#SaturdaySpotlight: Picmonkey

Good Morning Friends,

Our scheduled guest was unable to make it today so I thought I'd spotlight a program #MyAHA (my authors helping authors) group friends shared with me.

If you're a twitter or Facebook fan, you see all the pictures with text designed to entice you into checking out the book advertised.

Well, these memes have a way of drawing a readers attention so naturally I wanted to know how to create one.

Fellow authors from a promo group I belong to told me about PicMonkey a free online photo editor and let me tell you something I'm loving this site!

The more I learn the more I enjoy creating memes for my books. So today, I'm sharing a couple with you.....

I've had a lot of fun creating these!

So if you just want to add text to a photo, edit your favorite pictures or create memes for your books or other art work, check out PicMonkey!

Hope you enjoyed today's spotlight!

#TuesdayTreasures: Sunsets

Good Morning Friends,

This past weekend I went camping on Toledo Bend, a lake that is accessible from Texas as well as Louisiana and purported to be one of the best fishing spots in the nation.

While relaxing in a lounge chair I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets I'd seen in a while. Gratitude welled up within me for the beauty, magnificence and grace of God to paint the sky in such wonder.

In The Visionary, Alex Broussard feels the same way about sunrise and/or sunsets on the lake. Of course he is talking about Lake Charles but here's the scene I'm referring to....

He settled on a bench at the south end of the Civic Center grounds and turned his gaze toward the east while the sun ascended into the heavens. Fingers of orange and yellow stretched gloriously across the sky and tinted the clouds into fluffs of pink and peach as the gray of dawn gave way to the brilliance of morning. Colors expanded heavenward then reached down to caress the water and added hints of orange and gold to the silvery waves.

No matter how much things change, this would always remain true: sunrise or sunset on the lake was one of the most breathtaking sights he would ever see.

So today I thought I'd share a couple of sunsets I've had the good fortune to experience beginning with this one from 4/8/16 @ 7:26pm....

I remember in vivid detail one sunset that turned the sky a brilliant mix of orange and cream it reminded me of one of those orange sherbet ice cream bars...only the cloud formation was shaped like a tornado....almost like a water funnel...like the sun was draining from the sky. Indescribable really and since I happened to be driving at the time - on Interstate 10 with no place to pull over and get a picture, I can only do my best to describe it in hopes you'll get a visual--I know, however, my words do not even come close to doing justice to its awesomeness! I even looked on the Internet and couldn't find anything close to that particular sunset.

Anyway....

Here are a couple of sunsets I photographed from the Silver Spur Guest Ranch in Bandera, TX taken 10/11/12 @ 7:03 pm....

And if I'm going to share sunsets with you, I might as well share at least one sunrise...this one also from the Silver Spur on 12/12/13 @7:21 am.....

I hope these photos bring you the same sense of awe they bring me!

Next time you get a chance, take a few moments to drink in a sunset (or maybe a sunrise) and thank the Lord above for showing us His grace and beauty in a painted sky.

Something to think about!

#ThursdayThoughts: Random Ramblings on Promotion

Good Morning!

Whew been B-U-S-Y gearing up for this year's Egg-Cerpt Exchange* with fellow authors. All the work and organization has got me wondering....

Is Promotion really worth the time and effort?

As writers we dream of writing...that's it...write. Of course writing isn't all that simple either...there are rewrites and revisions then submission, acceptance (or rejection) possibly more rewrites/revisions...once contracted there are edits (sometimes several rounds) So...writing isn't just sitting at the computer and cranking out stories.

After so many books, you'd think we'd get it right the first time out....not necessarily true though.

But then comes the promotion part and let me tell you, as an independent/small press published author AND Marketing Associate for Pelican Book Group, promotion is a huge time sucker!

But the question remains....Is it worth it?

I've yet to know beyond a shadow of a doubt whether or not it is. I do know this much though, after being totally trashed by some then mildly insulted by others, I've just about given up on reviews!

Yeah back in October I shared with you that I'd received some very disappointing reviews. Well, more recently I received notice of another reviewer who, although not as vicious as the other, said about The Visionary, "Portraying religion is a cure-all for abuse victims is inaccurate and potentially harmful, in my opinion."....

To begin with I did no such thing! The twins had been through counseling, etc from early on but that just didn't work for Trevor....it took a major life incident for him to seek another means of counseling...with a Pastor for him to get past the anger and hatred and be healed.

UGGHHH ... whatever though.

Anyway, (told you it was a random rambling day LOL!)....back to the question, is all the promotion worth the time, energy and effort involved?

I don't know for sure but it can be fun! Besides, God has a way of using the most unusual means to get our books into the hands of those who need them most.

JMHO of course but something to think about...

#TuesdayTreasure: Book Reviews

Good Morning!

Yesterday I received a wonderful review on The Visionary and thought...What better to share as something I treasure than my readers and the reviews they take time to write.....

Reader, Amy (Seasons of Grace) said about The Visionary....

"This book was captivating from the start. The characters will grab your heart. Taylor and her brother Trevor grew up in a home filled with any kind of abuse you can imagine. Although they are both in their adulthood now, the past still has a fierce grip on them. They have also kept the past a secret. None one has been allowed to enter that territory with them. They desperately need to heal and be able to move on so life can be stable. Together, they have built a successful construction and renovating business.

Enter Alex, a business man himself, looking for someone to fix up an old home he owns. Taylor has a gift - the ability to envision what places looked like in the past. That gift, although at times, a curse, enables her to design the most magnificent homes and renovate them true to their previous state. As Alex gets to know Taylor better, his heart slowly becomes involved. But can Taylor move past the abuse she has suffered and allow herself to love and be loved?

This book is loaded!! Pam is know as an author of "inspirational with an edge". I would definitely say this book has an edge. It is wonderfully written, but I would caution on age due to what I felt was a bit graphic content of the abuse itself. It doesn't take away from the story, but a may be difficult for young readers to grasp. Trevor and Taylor have been extremely emotionally damaged by their abusive father, and because of that have a difficult time trusting God. Taylor seems to slowly grasp the faith, but Trevor struggles. He especially cannot comprehend why God would allow such horrible things to happen if He is a loving God. Pam handles it beautifully, and presents the gospel openly. She does a wonderful job with the faith aspect of the book."

So this morning I'd like to THANK Amy again and say how VERY much I appreciate EVERY and ALL Readers and Reviews!!

May God Bless you ALL this & EVERY day for taking time to read my books and stories because Every Sale is a Soul for God!

The Visionary is available @Amazon in Hardcover, Softcover, and Kindle also at Barnes & Noble in Softcover, Nook!

Saturday Spotlight - The Visionary!

Hello Friends,

You may find it odd that I'm spotlighting one of my own titles, but hey....if I don't tell you about them, who will? LOL!

Seriously, I decided to give you a sneak peak at one of my books or stories every month!

This week, I'm sharing The Visionary with you because it is FREE! on Kindle Select Tomorrow (3/31) and Monday (April 1st).... No Fooling!

A visionary is someone who sees into the future Taylor Forrestier sees into the past but only as it pertains to her work. Hailed by her peers as “a visionary with an instinct for beauty and an eye for the unique” Taylor is undoubtedly a brilliant architect and gifted designer. But she and twin brother Trevor, share more than a successful business. EXCERPT:
The house, a mere box of a building, seemed sturdy despite its state of disrepair and years of neglect. Taylor fished in her pocket for a piece of charcoal and began to sketch the structure. When Alex spoke of changes and additions, she forced her mind off the way his voice feathered over her and added to the drawings. She flipped to a fresh page and drew the wallpaper pattern then found a spot where it had pulled away from the wall. She took a penknife out of her pocket, slid the blade under the paper and carefully cut a section and placed the piece in the book along with her sketch. A mental list of companies which specialized in the reproduction of old wallpaper and paneling patterns became notations alongside the sketch and sample.
She listened when Trevor noted aloud the quality of wood that could be restored or repaired to maintain the integrity of the original house. When he and Alex went outside she stayed in to examine walls and floors. She took notes of the hand-carved trim work, antique cook stove, and pot-bellied wood stove, but her mind continued to circle around the sound of Alex’s voice and the light in his eyes when he looked at her.
She had no idea why he affected her so and welcomed the moments alone to focus on the job at hand. Her mind traveled back a few hours to her jog around the Civic Center, and she recalled with vivid clarity the moment she had passed by the bench where he sat. Their eyes had met for only a brief moment but she’d felt the warmth of his gaze clear to her toes. No one had ever touched her heart, much less jumbled her mind, with a simple gaze or smile.
She shook her head with a sigh and picked her way carefully up the ragged stairs, then stepped into what was once a loft or attic. The house reeked of history, from cypress-covered exterior walls and interior walls of bare wood, to the hardwood floors made of oak, the boxed staircase, and the wooden shutters with crosses carved out of the center.
Taylor knew the cuts were used to slip a gun barrel through in order to protect the property and family. Though a bit of a struggle, she managed to open one window and shutter. Sunlight filtered in to chase shadows from the room.
A glimpse of splendor, a glimmer of brilliance caught her eye, like fairy dust dancing on sunlight. She turned her head with caution when a pulse at the base of her skull began to throb and familiar vibrations stole over her. She lowered herself to the floor and let the sensations envelop her. Her eyesight blurred, fingers trembled and heartbeat quickened while her mind swam with images. Visions guided her hand until she filled the remainder of the sketchbook.

The Visionary is also available in Hardcover @ Amazon or Barnes & Noble - OR you can get an autographed copy directly from me! Email for details.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well today is the one day set aside as a nation to show our thanks to the Lord for His bountiful blessings - and a great day it is--although I'm a firm believer Thanksgiving should be expressed every day!

Anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one knows the holidays are most bittersweet; the joy of living tempered by sorrow of living without that/those special one(s). This is the third Thanksgiving without my husband  and yet, I have a LOT to be thankful for!

One thing I am eternally grateful for (besides the love & support of my family) is the love and support of you, my dear reader friends and I pray God's richest blessings upon each and every one of you!

Since today is one in the month-long blog tour for The Visionary, I decided to not interrupt any of my hosts' holiday with their family, but to mention it here.

Previous stops:

Saturday Spotlight ~ New Releases from Pelican Book Group!

Good Morning Friends,

And a glorious day it is! Today I'll be joining a few fellow authors for a group book signing at The Son Shine Shop in Sulphur, LA - then a chat tonight on Coffee Time Romance loop and don't forget the month-long blog tour going on with The Visionary...Today's stop is Tracy Krauss's blog. Now on to our spotlight.....

2 new releases from Pelican Book Group!

This week we welcome Linda Wood Rondeau to the Pelican Book Group family. Linda brings us a suspenseful tale wrought with danger, redemption...and some quirky characters that will have you smiling through your fear. Don't miss THE OTHER SIDE OF DARKNESS.

The Other Side of Darkness
Three lives intertwined, tied together by dangerous circumstance and the faint echoes of an elusive hope. To make it through, each must find their way to the Light that’s found only on the other side of darkness.

After setting out on a forced vacation, and literally running into a moose, Manhattan Assistant D.A. Samantha Knowles finds it’s not so bad being stranded in a quirky but intriguing Adirondack town. But when her three-year prosecution against a convicted killer begins to unravel, she’s thrust into a whirlwind of haunting memories, fear, and danger...and suddenly, Haven isn’t so safe, after all.

With no future in Haven, and no way to escape the small town, teacher Zack Bordeaux fears he’s doomed to a life of mediocrity.

Haunted by the deaths of his wife and son, landscape artist Jonathan Gladstone feels bound to an estate he both loves and loathes.

When Zack and Jonathon meet Samantha, their lives take on a different course.

This week, also, Mary Manners brings us another tale from the Sweet Treats Bakery Series--a reader favourite. One bakery, four sisters, four romances! Don't miss this third installment.

Tessa's Teacakes
Tessa, the youngest Spencer sister--and the most impulsive--rushes into the Mount Ridge crisis center bent on saving her brother-in-law. She's ready to handle Brent's abductor, with or without help. What she's not ready to handle is the effect policeman, Colin Phillips, has on her. Romance is the last thing on Tessa's mind. She longs for the adventure and fast-pace of New York City, not being tied to Mount Ridge and a man who insists she shouldn't be so impetuous. After all "independent spirit" is what Tessa does best!

Colin transferred from the police force in Atlanta in order to find closure after the brutal murder of his younger sister. He wants a nice, safe future, not one filled with caring and worrying about another impulsive woman. His sister was naïve and unpredictable, and while Colin is drawn to Tessa's spunk and vitality, her willingness to rush into danger scares him. No way could he cope with another devastating loss. His heart must remain closed where Tessa is concerned. But God has His own plans...and His own way of changing hearts and cultivating love.

Other books in the series include:
Kate's Kisses
Grace's Gold

Well friends, that wraps up another week. Stop by often and don't forget, Every Time you leave a comment along the blog tour, your name is entered in the drawing to win an autographed copy of The Visionary!

Until later....take care, God Bless and remember...God's vision for your life far exceeds yours so - look up!
