#SaturdaySpotlight is on The Visionary

Hello There Friends,

My scheduled guest could not be here today and I don't have a substitute author so I'm going to share with you the new cover and blurb for The Visionary.

Let's start with current cover and blurb....

A visionary is someone who sees into the future Taylor Forrestier sees into the past but only as it pertains to her work. Hailed by her peers as “a visionary with an instinct for beauty and an eye for the unique” Taylor is undoubtedly a brilliant architect and gifted designer. But she and twin brother Trevor, share more than a successful business. The two share a childhood wrought with lies and deceit and the kind of abuse that’s disturbingly prevalent in today’s society.  Can the love of God and the awesome healing power of His grace and mercy free the twins from their past and open their hearts to the good plan and the future He has for their lives?  Find out in…The Visionary ~ Where the power of God's love heals the most wounded of souls.

Here's the new....

Will the ugly secret haunting the twins keep them from finding true love?

While most visionaries see into the future, Taylor sees the past. but only as it pertains to her work.

Don't you just love it?!?

I do too.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Joanne Guidoccio @JoanneGuidoccio & No More Secrets!

Good Morning!

Looks like it'll be another rainy day here in SWLA but we can always hope, right? Been a crazy week with two funerals and a quick trip to Toledo Bend to pick up the camper. Got in a little fishing, only caught enough for supper but hey, "our daily bread" right?

Today's guest is brand new to our blog so please welcome Joanne Guidoccio with her book, No More Secrets!

Angelica Delfino takes a special interest in the lives of her three nieces, whom she affectionately calls the daughters of her heart. Sensing that each woman is harboring a troubling, possibly even toxic secret, Angelica decides to share her secrets—secrets she had planned to take to the grave. Spellbound, the nieces listen as Angelica travels back six decades to reveal an incredulous tale of forbidden love, tragic loss, and reinvention. It is the classic immigrant story upended: an Italian widow’s transformative journey amid the most unlikely of circumstances.

Inspired by Angelica’s example, the younger women share their “First World” problems and, in the process, set themselves free.

But one heartbreaking secret remains untold...

Excerpt

“Go,” Kelly said. “Your aunt is dying, and this could be your last opportunity to spend some quality time together.”

“Her oncologist shared good news last week,” Nora said. “Her blood counts have improved, and the cancer hadn’t spread since her last visit. He mumbled something about a miracle.”

“A miracle?” Kelly’s eyes widened. “Has your aunt been seeing a healer?”

“You could say that,” Nora said as her eyes twinkled. “Right after Christmas, she hired a companion who’s been able to transform her life. I don’t know her real name. My mother calls her Bellastrega—beautiful witch.” All recent conversations with Ma had focused on Bellastrega. Relieved not to have to share her own problems, Nora had encouraged her mother to talk about the beautiful witch who had turned all their lives upside down. Nora enjoyed the weekly updates that sounded like soap operas.

“Is she a beautiful witch?”

Nora shrugged. “My mother mentioned her dyed-blonde hair, too-skinny body, and watery eyes. She’s put Zia on a vegan diet and an exercise regimen. At Christmas, Zia needed a walker to get around, but now she’s walking freely. My mother and aunt are convinced that Bellastrega is a witch who’ll end up robbing Angelica and leaving.” Nora had tried to point out that if Bellastrega’s intention was to steal, it would make more sense to let Angelica get weaker.

“She sounds intriguing,” Kelly said. “I’d go just to meet this woman.”

“Hmm. I guess.” Nora was curious and wouldn’t mind sitting and chatting with the woman about wellness. But from Zia Angelica’s email, it sounded like Bellastrega would leave soon after everyone arrived.

“Think of it as an adventure. How many beautiful witches have you met in this lifetime?”

In 2008, Joanne Guidoccio took advantage of early retirement and launched a second act as a writer. Her articles and book reviews have been published in newspapers, magazines, and online. When she tried her hand at fiction, she made reinvention a recurring theme in her novels and short stories.

A member of Crime Writers of Canada, Sisters in Crime, and Women’s Fiction Writers Association, Joanne writes paranormal romances, cozy mysteries, and inspirational literature from her home base of Guelph, Ontario.

#TuesdayTreasures guest post by Paula Mowery!

Good Morning!

I hope today's post finds you blessed and happy!

Our guest, Paula Mowery has visited us before but hasn't shared something she treasures in quite a while so please give her a great big warm welcome back and let's see what she's got for us....

My paternal grandmother’s Bible was given to me several years after she passed away. One day I was flipping through it and found passages underlined in First John. As I read through the verses, my arms crawled with goose bumps. Basically it was the answer to why I write Christian fiction.

Later I began to notice many other verses and passages highlighted or underlined. That’s when I started imagining a story in which a young woman gains her grandmother’s Bible after her death. Upon perusing the Bible, the woman realizes that her grandmother had highlighted and commented on certain passages and then numbered them for her granddaughter to follow.

Upon further “what if” journeys in my mind, I imagined the verses guiding the woman’s life specifically, almost eerily.

I’m hoping readers will discover as Kenzie and I did that God’s Word can be trusted and will guide lives.

God’s Word is a treasure. But this copy of His Word with my grandmother’s notes and highlighting makes this particular copy of the Bible a true personal treasure. As I read this copy I feel a sense of connection with my grandmother and her Godly legacy.

Oh Wow, Paula, you're grandmother's bible is certainly something to treasure and what an interesting premise for a book!

Paula Mowery is a published author and speaker. Her first two published works were The Blessing Seer and Be The Blessing from Pelican Book Group. Both are women’s fiction, and their themes have been the topics of speaking engagements. Be The Blessing won the Selah Award in 2014 in the novella category. In November of 2013 her first romance released in the anthology, Brave New Century, from Prism Book Group. This book went to number five on Amazon’s bestseller category, historical Christian romance. Legacy and Love was her first solo romance and was a finalist in the Carolyn Readers Choice Awards in 2015. Her other titles include a Christian romantic suspense called For Our Good, a Christmas romance called Love Again, and a romance inspired from the Love Chapter called The Crux of Honor.

Reviewers of her writing characterize it as “thundering with emotion.” Her articles have appeared in Woman’s World, The Christian Online Magazine, and the multi-author devotional blogs, Full Flavored Living and Putting on the New. She wrote a section for Join the Insanity by Rhonda Rhea. She has devotionals included in several collaborative books.

She is a member of ACFW and has also been on the faculty for the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference.

Paula is a pastor’s wife, a mom, and an interpreter for the deaf. She homeschooled her daughter through all twelve years, and they both lived to tell about it. Before educating her daughter at home, she was an English teacher in public school.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Paula Mowery & A Lamp Unto Her Feet!

Good Morning!

Today's guest, fellow PBG author, Paula Mowery has visited with us before. Today she returns with a brand new release, so please give her a great big warm welcome!

Kenzie Murrah has lost the guiding voice of her Nana Nita just when she needs it most. She’s graduating mid-year with her early childhood degree, but her parents expect her to join the family chiropractic business. In her Bible, Nana explains how God’s Word can guide Kenzie, but there’s doubt on Kenzie’s part, until the highlighted verses begin to follow her life much too closely.

Trevor Wallen escaped an embarrassing and reputation smearing incident to become a police officer in the small Tennessee town. He strives to do his best to follow Christian principles but longs for God to bring someone into his life with those same morals and values.
Kenzie and Trevor share an attraction for one another that grows into more until a tragedy threatens to end everything. Kenzie begins to shy away from reading the next scripture passage, for fear of what may happen.

Will Kenzie learn she can trust God’s Word? Will Kenzie and Trevor get the chance for a happily ever after despite the dangers of his occupation?

Paula did not provide an excerpt, but you can look inside the book at Amazon!

Paula is a pastor’s wife, mom to a college student, author, acquiring editor, and speaker. No matter the hat she wears, she strives to honor God’s plan even if it means going out on a limb and leaving comfort zones. Reviewers have characterized her writing as “thundering with emotion.” Her book, Be The Blessing, won the 2014 Selah Award in the novella category. Paula enjoys reading and reviewing Christian fiction, writing Christian romance and devotionals, and helping other authors realize their dream of publication.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on.... Me

Good Morning Friends,

My scheduled guest was unable to be here today so, instead of tossing someone into the spotlight unaware and unprepared, I decided to take today to visit with you myself.

When I started writing years and years ago, my intention was simply to write the kind of romance I love to read....strong, alpha male heroes and strong, yet gentle, sensitive and, maybe just a little delicate, heroines. Well, even if she thought herself strong, the man in her life appreciated and understood she still needed his strength and protection.

So very different from the stories of today where the female is just as tough and .... I don't know, capable is the word that comes to mind.....as the man.

That was my plan.

But God had another agenda, one I discovered the day I recommitted my life to Him and asked to write something that gave Him glory.

Many people are not thrilled with my "Inspirational with an Edge" writing, saying that you can't have that much sensuality and "gritty realism" or characters that get angry and curse or attempt suicide in a 'Christian' novel. Which is why I don't claim to write Christian, but Inspirational fiction.

Even though I love to read a clean, chaste, Christian romance, it's just not what I write.

So for those authors and readers who prefer traditional Christian books, I ask your forgiveness and grace if you've been dissatisfied with my books.

And for those of you who would like to read something different than trad CF, yet do not want today's versions of traditional romance, I invite you to give my books a try.

In fact, one lucky person who leaves a comment will get the Ebook of their choice of my titles (self-pubbed OR PBG)!

Hope you enjoyed today's post and that you'll join me each week for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight!

Until next time, take care and God bless.

Saturday Spotlight ~ Aileen Friedman-Naude

Good Morning Friends,

As you know I've been busy & traveling this week so, I'm a little late posting my Saturday Spotlight. Today I'm happy to introduce to you Aileen Friedman-Naude with her book, When is My Forever.  I first met Aileen when she advertised her other book, Changes from a Sunset with The Wordsmith Journal Magazine, so it pleases me greatly to have her here on my blog with her second book. So, without much further ado, here she is....

I am truly blessed by God, without Him life has no purpose.

There is nothing more precious to me than my family. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, 3 daughters, "adopted" Anja, 2 son-in-laws and the 3 most darling grandchildren.

I read almost anything but mostly love biographies and old classics.
I love walking on the beach with my hubby & dog everyday it is the best time of everyday.

I had a lot of time on my hands when all my children left home and decided it was time to put my stories from my head to paper.
'Changes From a Sunset' is my first book and I am overwhelmed by the incredible response it has received. My second book 'When is my Forever' has just been published.

Vanda has always had a strained, volatile and unloving relationship with her mother, Dena. When Vanda and her best friend Patty meet a new group of friends they are introduced to love and also to God.

There are brief moments when it seems as though Dena can change and become the mother Vanda has always longed for, but these moments are short-lived, leaving Vanda feeling more and more bitter.

Egan, her Irish boyfriend, is the perfect antidote, but their plans for a happy forever are put to the test when he is forced to return to Ireland.

To make matters worse, an unwanted pregnancy stops Vanda from joining him, and she discovers an anger towards her mother that consumes her.

Will Vanda rely on God to get her through this traumatic time, and will Egan be the forever she has longed for all her life?

When is my Forever is available through Amazon in Print and on Kindle.

You can find our more about Aileen by visiting her Website, or connecting with her on FaceBook, Twitter @aileenlf, Good Reads, LinkedIn or look her up on Google!

Well Friends, I hope you enjoyed this spotlight as much as I enjoy bringing it to you.

Until next time, Be Blessed!

Saturday Spotlight - Linda Rondeau

Good Morning Friends,

Well another 4 weeks have passed and I'm still not settled and organized enough to blog regularly but I keep working toward that! A lot has happened since my last post. August 18th marked the 3yr anniversary of my husband's death and was a day of mixed emotions as I had a funeral AND a wedding to attend that day! The next week I drove to Durant, OK for a speaking engagement - loads of fun! Now, I'm settled back in LA and doing my best to wrap up several projects, keep The Wordsmith Journal Magazine running smoothly and hopefully start the new year a lot more organized and fruitful! This my friends, is my life in a nutshell LOL!

Now without much further ado, please welcome Linda Rondeau to our Saturday Spotlight with her new book, America II The Reformation.

Winner of the 2012 Selah Award for best first novel (The Other Side of Darkness/Harbourlight), LINDA RONDEAU, writes for the reader who enjoys a little bit of everything. Her stories of redemption and God’s mercies include romance, suspense, the ethereal, and a little bit of history into the mix, always served with a slice of humor. Walk with her unforgettable characters as they journey paths not unlike our own. After a long career in human services, mother of three and wife of one very patient man, Linda now resides in Florida where she is active in her church and community. Readers may visit her web site at www.lindarondeau.com. Her second book, written under L.W. Rondeau, America II: The Reformation, Trestle Press, the first in a dystopian trilogy, is a futuristic political now available in ebook on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. Print edition will be available September 7. She is also contracted with Trestle Press for a prequel to her America II trilogy called The Rising. This will appear in serial form. Volume One will be released soon. An Adirondack romance will be released in October by Lighthouse of the Carolinas in time for the Christmas season and is called, It Really Is a Wonderful life.

Following unprecedented climatic changes, resultant pestilence and war brought the world into chaos. Eventually, each nation surrendered its sovereignty to form a global democracy, initially known as The Accord. However, the democratic government proved too weak and was soon replaced by a faux democratic rule.
The year is 2073, and current governor of Western America Province, Edwin Rowlands, is poised to become the Constitutional Government’s second president. Many fear that the sweeping reforms found in his proposed Preservation Act will set him up as a dictator. If enacted, defection both past and present would become a crime punishable by death, thus bringing all outlands into crushing subjection.

While most believe reform is critical, factions disagree on how to prevent the Preservation Act from becoming law. Ahmed Farid, second President, believes reform can be managed within the existing government. Leader of the Revolutionary Army, Jimmy Kinnear, trusts only in military intervention. However, Jacob Goodayle, Chairman of Western America’s illegal outland government, favors separatism.
As tensions rise, civil war seems imminent. Who will be the voice of reason in a world on the verge of a third dark age?

Endorsements for America II The Reformation

Linda Rondeau’s new series is a near-future tale of twisted morality and technology that begins with a clutch to the throat and won’t let go, even after the last page. ~ Lisa Lickel, author of Meander Scar

The author shows clear imagination, and it is definitely an interesting read. ~ Ian Miller, author

The author has evidently given much consideration and context to the present trends and circumstances that threaten such societies: the "Balkanization" or further fragmentation of the America's and other areas of the globe; pandemic viruses and cataclysmic natural events; centralized regimes and tyrannical rule; euthanasia and population control; mass-media programming and propaganda; conflicts and war….five stars! ~H. Kirk Rainer, author

In America II: The Reformation, L. W. Rondeau creates a story world I want to explore and characters I want to know. Rondeau addresses controversial issues our world faces now and will face in the future. She crafts a story worth reading.~ T. Tarver, author of Dark Eyes, Deep Eyes

A futuristic fast-paced tale, America II: The Reformation, will keep you on the edge of your seat. L.W. Rondeau knows how to grip the human heart. ~ Alice J. Wisler, author of Rain Song, Still Life in Shadows, and three other novels

A sweeping drama! Rondeau skillfully creates a realistic society on the brink of revolution in the not-too-distant future.
