Tuesday Treasure: Patty Froese & A Christmas Bonus

Good Morning Friends,

Well Christmas is over and today is the last day of 2013 but it's never too late to share with you a great book by another wonderful author!

Patty Froese writes from Alberta, Canada, where the winters are long and cold. This suits her just fine, since it gives her plenty of time to write and she can enjoy the snow from the right side of the window. She has her degree in English Literature and has written in other genres, but she particularly enjoys writing romance.
Patty also writes for Harlequin Love Inspired under the name Patricia Johns.
http://pattyfroese.com

When Millie's boss asks her to work over Christmas, she's hesitant to give him any more overtime. She has plans for her life that include quitting this job and starting her own photography business, and she promises herself to quit by New Years.

Andrew Holmes has no desire to go back to his tiny hometown for the holidays, but his manipulative grandfather gives him an ultimatum that he just can't refuse. So in order to get the last project of the year finished in time, he asks his assistant, Millie, to make the trip with him.

With a disgruntled brother, a sister-in-law struggling with infertility and a little boy who shows up claiming that one of the Holmes men is his father, Christmas is about to get complicated...

Excerpt
"So, Millie says she'd like to stay," Andrew announced.
"Good." Louise shot her a smile. "Do you like fruitcake, Millie?"
"I think so." Mille sank into a seat next to her boss.
"Me, too..." Louise disappeared into the fridge, her voice meandering out from the chilly depths. "Except I always hate the fruit in it. So I just make the cake. But the cake is rather dry."
"It's more like a Christmas cracker," Andrew murmured, and Millie repressed a laugh.
The dense, dry confection that landed with a heavy thud on the tabletop looked nothing like the fruitcake she'd seen in the past.
"Guests first." Louise announced cheerfully, and when Millie shot Andrew a "help me" look, he pointed under the table.
"Give it to the dog," he mouthed.
The dog? So far, Millie hadn't seen a dog in the house, and when she slowly raised the plastic tablecloth to peer under the table, she was met with the biggest canine face she'd ever seen in her life. Stifling a yelp of shock, she turned her ashen face towards Andrew.
"That's Edgar," Andrew said.
"Edgar?"
He nodded. "Get used to him." When she turned her attention to the plate deposited in front of her, Andrew leaned in and murmured in her ear. "Thanks for coming, by the way."

A Christmas Bonus is available now through Desert Breeze Publishing, for Amazon Kindle &  @ Barnes and Noble for Nook!

Well friends, I hope you enjoy this last Tuesday Treasure for 2013....see ya next year!

Saturday Spotlight: Tanya Stowe & Delia Latham

Good Morning!

I pray you've enjoyed a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to 2014 which is just days away!

This post may look familiar, that's because I goofed up and spotlighted it on Nov 30th instead of today as promised so.... Here again is PBG author, Tanya Stowe with three new releases.... Two in conjunction with fellow PBG author, Delia Latham!

Tanya Stowe is an author of Christian Fiction with an unexpected edge. She fills her stories with the unusual…gifts of the spirit and miracles, mysteries and exotic travel, even an angel or two. No matter where Tanya takes you…on a journey to the Old West or to contemporary adventures in foreign lands…be prepared for the extraordinary. Find out more about Tanya by visiting her Website or connecting with her on Facebook!

Alex Marsden dragged Penny Layton out of the gutter and promised her a happy-ever-after-love with a house and a white-picket fence. But the Civil War changed their paths. Separated twice by circumstances beyond their control, Penny learned to survive on her own, but lost hope. Five years later when Alex miraculously returns to her, Penny doesn't believe in happy endings or miracles. Will Alex's faith and love be strong enough to drag Penny out of the gutter one more time? Tender Trust is available Now!

At twenty-one, Lea Dale is well-adjusted and happy, despite the facial scars she's carried since infancy. She has friends in high places (with a connection to angels); possesses colorful vision (since for some reason she can see auras around folks); and her family and friends adore her. Corrective surgery is a possibility, but not one Lea has felt the need to consider…until wealthy investor Laren Meadows walks into her life and turns it upside down. Suddenly, Lea is painfully conscious of her lack of perfection, given Laren's flawless looks and ultra-charming personality. What a blessing that he's attracted to her despite her scars—and even her special angel seems to approve of the match.

Then a secret from Laren's past threatens to destroy any hope of a future for the two of them. Now there's only one way for Lea to know if Laren's love is true, but taking that action could mark the end of their relationship.

Can love survive such a tangled mess of physical and emotional scars?

Lea's Gift is written with author Delia Latham and is part of her Solomon's Gate series and is available NOW!

Layne Mabrey is on the run. Determined to hide their Down Syndrome daughter from the world, her ex-husband wants to have six-year-old Chloe institutionalized, but Layne will go to any lengths to keep her child. Dex Beckett falls immediately in love with both Layne and Chloe, but Layne can't afford to get close to anyone--not even the shy, gentle cowboy next door. She and Chloe have to be ready to run at any moment. Concerned that Chloe's sudden creation of an imaginary friend could be used to substantiate her father's claims, Layne is shocked when Dex offers an unbelievable opinion about the child's invisible visitor. But there's more to Heart's Haven than meets the eye. Is it possible a Christmas miracle awaits Layne and Chloe on the Heart's Haven Angel Tree?

A Cowboy Christmas is part of the Hearts Haven series, is also written in conjunction with Delia Latham and is available NOW! Find out more about all of the Hearts Haven titles by visiting their blog and/or Facebook page!

Thursday Thoughts: Merry Christmas!

I know, I know....Christmas was yesterday but since I post on Thursday, not Wednesday, you're getting My Christmas Wish for You today.....

As I wish upon a star,
in the silent night above.
I’m reminded of the holy night,
God sent His gift of love.

A precious Child to light our way,
with hope & promise of a better day.
Wrapped in swaddling, asleep in the hay,
the King of Kings to whom we now pray.

My wish for you this Christmas Day,
is that blessings & favor prepare your way.
And peace, joy, goodwill & cheer,
fill your heart each day of the year.

                                  Merry Christmas!

Tuesday Treasures: Christmas Programs and Ornaments

Good Morning and Merry Christmas Eve!

Back in March I shared a website with you that features art from school children and the fact that my granddaughter's teacher had uploaded some of her artwork there. Well this site, does so many great things with the kid's artwork as fundraisers for the school so I purchased 3 Christmas ornaments, 1 each of Bryann's prujects.

Also, as with many of your children, my grandson, Karson (Bryanna's little brother) was in his first Christmas program. Here are some pics from it....

I'm sure you feel the way I do and know items like these are treasures to behold.

Well Friends, I pray your Christmas is Merry and Blessed!

Until later....take care, God Bless and remember....Sometimes what we think of as a disappointment is actually a divine delay.

Something to think about...

Saturday Spotlight: Stone Cold Dead by Catherine Dilts

Good Morning Friends,

Christmas is 4 days away, but if you're like me, you're already celebrating with family and friends. Beginning today I have a Christmas party nearly every day!

I pray your celebrations are blessed and that you take a few moments out of each day to pause and reflect on the reason for this (and every) season.

Without much further ado, please welcome fellow Five Star author, Catherine Dilts with her brand new novel, Stone Cold Dead.

*photo by: Kari Vollaire, Artsy Phartsy Design

To Catherine Dilts, rock shops are like geodes – both contain amazing treasures hidden inside their plain-as-dirt exteriors. Catherine caught mountain fever after a childhood vacation in Rocky Mountain National Park. Determined to give up her flat–lander ways, she moved from Oklahoma to Colorado. Her husband, a Colorado native, proposed to her as they hiked Barr Trail on Pikes Peak. Catherine works as an environmental scientist, and plays at heirloom vegetable gardening, camping, and fishing. She has published short fiction in Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. In her spare time, she attempts to lure wild donkeys to her property in the mountains. Find out more by visiting her website.

When her brother abandons the family rock shop, recently widowed Morgan Iverson reluctantly becomes the manager. Business is as dead as the fossils cluttering the dusty shelves. While rounding up a runaway donkey, Morgan discovers the body of a Goth teen. When a newspaper article hits the streets hinting that Morgan witnessed the murder, she becomes the victim of escalating threats that make it clear the killer thinks she holds a clue to the teen’s murder. Morgan knows her life won’t be worth a pile of fossilized dinosaur dung unless she can dig up the murderer.

Stone Cold Dead is available now for Kindle and for pre-order in print!

Well Friends, I'll keep this short and sweet. Until later...take care & God Bless!

Saturday Spotlight: A Blessed Blue Christmas by LoRee Peery

Well Friends Christmas is getting closer by the minute and what better way to prepare than with another Christmas book to share with you!

LoRee Peery is another longtime friend and fellow PBG author and today we're spotlighting her brand new release which is part of PBG's Christmas Extravaganza.

A Nebraska country girl, LoRee Peery attempts to see God’s presence every day. Often that gift comes from nature. The call of a cardinal draws her to look for the distinctive flash of crimson. A meadowlark’s melody always transports her to the farm where she grew up. A rainbow holds special significance, since one appeared arched over her father’s grave the day of his funeral. She received that sign as a promise of the Lord’s presence in her life. LoRee clings to I John 5:4 and prays her family, especially her 11 grandchildren, see that faith. Find out more about LoRee by visiting her website, on FaceBook or find her on Amazon.

Dahlia Delisi has poured her life into her store, The Blue Dahlia.  Once, her faith was strong, and her life was on a different course.  But when Sloan Letheby left town, Dahlia drifted from God.

Sloan Letheby has been transformed. His brush with death brought new meaning to his faith in God, and he needs to right old wrongs.  However, there's a murder plot in the way of his reunion with Dahlia.  Can he find a killer before it's too late?  And can Dahlia accept him...and God, back into her life?

Excerpt:
The recent activity wiped out Dahlia, and time slowed. Surprisingly, she dozed most of the way back to Lincoln. On the street that housed her
duplex, she roused from her lethargy.

Sloan cupped her shoulder, and she sat straight. “I’ll let you know tomorrow if we’ve had any kind of break. Hopefully, this will all be over.
Remember to thank the Lord that Ken is going to be fine.”

“Are you sure you don’t think I’m a wimp, the way you’re telling me to take it easy? My little snooze is probably the only rest I’ll get until Christmas. Counting down the days, and Christmas Eve is always the busiest day other than Black Friday. For some reason guys put off that special gift purchase to the last minute. Not that I’m complaining.” She’d forgotten to leave Ken’s bracelet gift for Carrie. It remained in her
purse. She unlatched her belt and reached for the door handle.

“Wait. I’ll come around.” He did more than open her pickup door. He pulled her to his side, tucked her against him, and walked her up the drive.

She sighed, relished the familiarity.

Being so near to Sloan erased the years. Dahlia gave no thought to resting her head on his shoulder, falling into an old pattern. Ever so gently, he shifted his stance so they faced one another. The
icicle Christmas lights dripping from the eaves added a golden reflection to his eyes. “I won’t apologize. I can’t resist.”

“What for?”

“Shhh,” he said, sliding a finger across her lips.

He bent forward and replaced his finger with his lips, grazing her cheek with his face. His nose felt cold, but his lips shot fire through her.

Dare she give in? She was too tired to allow her mind influence over the temptation of responding to his touch. This was Sloan after all whose touch and feel at one time were almost an extension of her own body. She got into the kiss. Within a nanosecond, hands were in motion. His and hers, roaming over arms, shoulders, backs, waists, as though their limbs held memory in the muscles. She skimmed her right hand over the ridge of ribs, firmness of body beneath layers, until her fingers reached his nape.

She cupped the base of his skull, where the indented seven-shaped scar registered through her fingertips. Her traveling fingers rose higher and rolled his warm stocking cap into a heap.

He moaned, and pulled them out of the upsurge of heat. “We’ve both wanted this since we laid eyes on each other again.”

She swerved to the side, her world atilt, and bent to retrieve his cap.

He took it from her grasp and balled it into his own fist. Then he picked up her hand with his free one, and lifted her wrist for his caress.

She closed her eyes, marveled that such a minute touch at her pulse held enough force to set her senses on fire. But she didn’t have time for all that in her life. She pulled out of his arms. “Thanks for taking me to see Ken today. I need to get inside, and ready for tomorrow.”

His arms dropped to his sides, and he swayed a bit. So he felt shaken as well. “Dream of me tonight, Dahlia. And trust. Ken will be safe. The Lord will work out all the details.”

“There you go again. I’m used to working out my own details.”

Thursday Thoughts: Guest Post by Delia Latham

Good Morning Friends,

Today I thought I'd give you a break from my random ramblings and share with you some thoughts from a dear friend of mine, Delia Latham.

Today Delia is sharing a devotion from her book, Morning Rendezvous, Devotions and Musings from My Heart to Yours....

Morning Rendezvous
by Delia Latham
©

Psalm 5:3
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

I am not a morning person.

Most of the time I'm up until the wee hours, either writing or doing something to avoid writing, and then I sleep half the morning away. I can do that now—it's one of the perks of having an empty nest.

But not on this day.

I crawled into bed sometime just prior to 3 a.m. only to have my eyes pop open at about a quarter to six. I blinked sleepily and looked to my window, noticing the colors of dawn still streaking the sky. Dawn? Huh-uh! Giving my pillow a firm, outraged plump, I turned over to go back to sleep. It was not time to get up!

"Come talk to Me.”

Just a whisper. A tiny little voice. I might have imagined it.

"Pssst! In here. I'm waiting."

He kept it up, gently nudging me. Finally I groaned and responded. "OK, Lord, I'm awake. What's the deal?"

But lying in bed pretending to pay attention wasn't working. I finally had to crawl out of my nice warm cocoon, grab my little devotion book and Bible, and park myself on the sofa for some time with the Lover of my soul. Turns out I'd been putting that at the bottom of my To-Do list a little too often, and God—being the good Friend that He is—woke me up to tell me He missed me.
I realized just how much I had missed Him too, when He snuggled me up close and whispered, "Beloved...where have you been?"

The glory of that early morning rendezvous reflected itself in every moment of that day. How could it not? The King of Kings and Lord of Lords desired my company enough to disturb my coveted slumber to get it.

I am blessed!

Precious Lord, I thank You for the times You awaken me to show me Your love. They are treasured times with You, and I hold them close to my heart. They give me strength to endure; they give me joy for the journey. You are welcome anytime you want to be with me! I invite you to come often, and stay long. Amen

Morning Rendezvous is available through Amazon in Print and on Kindle!

Well Friends, I hope you enjoyed this devotion and sneak peek into Delia's heart.

Tomorrow I'll be guested at VB Tenery's blog, Agatha Remembered so if you have a minute, stop by!

IMW have a Blessed day!

A MARRIAGE COVENANT
Why does a handsome, powerful noble of the highest rank in England stoop to marry a mere Lady of Lowland Scotland?

A GREAT SECRET
Are the whispered stories about him true? With his shadowy past and strange behavior what awful secret does he hide? Each change of clothes transforms him into a different man.

AN IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE
Can Lady Cailin keep her vow to make her marriage happy and successful, unlike that of her parents, or to save her unborn child, must she arrange for the Duke’s accidental death?

EXCERPT:
Castle Drummond, home of Lord and Lady MacMurry, near the Village of Kirkmichael in Lowland Scotland -– April 19, 1746
“I won’t run.” A shudder skipped down Lady Cailin MacMurry’s spine, and she stared at her younger sister. “I’m committed.”
“It’s not too late. I heard another scandalous rumor about Duke Avondale.” Lady Megan MacMurry grasped Cailin’s arm.
“I won’t listen to gossip.” Cailin pulled away from her sister and lifted her wedding bouquet to inhale the white rose fragrance. If only the sweet scent could overcome Megan’s words, and her own misgivings. Though most arranged marriages turned out badly, surely God would give her a loving one. After all, since her earliest years, she’d prayed for a happily-ever-after love.
“Ask yourself why such a grand noble would stoop to marry a Scottish lass with but the title Lady? Why did he not choose an English Duchess or Marchioness or even a Countess?” Megan tilted her head and lifted elegant brows.
Why indeed? Cailin clutched her enormous diamond engagement necklace. The thing felt heavy with responsibility.
“The man’s an English duke. He owns palaces all over England.” Megan planted her hands on her slender, mossy-green silk covered hips. “Every noble lass in the land should be offering to give her right arm to be in your shoes. And yet they are not.”
New knots formed in the nape of Cailin’s neck. She held her finger to her lips. “Too late to turn back now. The wedding chorus has begun.”
