#TuesdayTreasures People, Places & Things

Good Morning,

When I first started this feature I thought, wow...between me and my guests, we'll never run out of things we treasure to share. But as I sit here this morning, so many thoughts run through my head....

Am I treasuring the right things?

Am I wasting my treasures (gifts and talents)....my life perhaps, doing what I have to do instead of what I love and want to do?

Are these items I treasure really worth anything to anyone else?

You may wonder where these thoughts come from. Or, maybe, you have them yourself from time to time.

We all have things in our lives we treasure....mementos from our children, parents, grandparents and friends. Things like.....

This vase my son made a flower arrangement in when he was just a boy that I now use as a pencil holder....

And this mug my daughter gave me for mothers day that talks about how I'm like a good bra...Supportive, Makes me (her) look good, never leaves me (her) hanging and is always close to my (her) heart LOL!

And then there's this flower arrangement from my mom's funeral and her heart necklace I wear when I need to feel her presence more acutely....

And we all know how I treasure Bandera, TX and the Silver Spur Guest Ranch LOL!

I have dozens of other things, memories really that I treasure, as I'm sure you have.

Last week we buried my brother-in-law. This week we'll bury my cousin. Therefore, my thoughts today are whether or not I'm actually showing and telling the people I treasure how much they mean to me.

I hope you'll take a moment today and tell  the people you treasure how much they mean to you. Can't tell them? Send them thoughts of love, peace, joy and happiness. You'll be surprised at the effect you thoughts about them will have on your, and their, day.

Meanwhile, I'd love to hear about some things you treasure so leave a comment!

Something to think about!
"Inspirational with an Edge!"

Hope you enjoyed today's post and that you'll join me each week for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time, take care and God Bless.

#TuesdayTreasures Christmas Memories to Treasure!

Good Morning!

Well Christmas is over and the New Year is less than a week away. What better treasures to share than Christmas Memories....

My daughter and son-in-law opened their brand new home and cooked our Christmas dinner.....Such a lovely gesture. I remember when we had these celebrations at my house but as with most families, changes happen, loved ones go to be with the Lord and the younger generation starts hosting these celebrations.
Who says family is always blood? One of the best gifts was a surprise visit from our 'extended family' from Henrietta, TX!
Hail, hail the gang's all here!

My dad, my honey, my children, grandchildren and our extended family!

And my most favorite...me, my daughter and my son.....

I AM incredibly Blessed!

Hope your Christmas was merry and bright and your New Year is Blessed beyond measure!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hope to see you later in the week (and each week) for Thursday Thoughts, Saturday Spotlight and Tuesday Treasures!

Until next time, take care and God bless.

#TuesdayTreasure: Special Guest Post by Anita Highman!

Good Morning Friends!

We have a very special guest brought to you today by Litfuse Publicity Group. Anita Highman shares something she treasures with us.

Sweet Memories

My latest novel, Summer’s List, is dedicated to the memory of a dog named Laney. This enchanting little pooch was part Chihuahua and the rest, well, was pure love. Laney was a dear friend and companion to my daughter-in-law, Danielle, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, which makes every day a painful ordeal, but can also at a moment’s notice, give her weeks of life-threatening peril. During some of the most frightening passages of Danielle’s youth, both physically and emotionally, Laney seemed to sense the vulnerability, struggle, and sadness in her beloved mistress and stayed by her side with great loyalty and affection. Danielle believes Laney was a true lifesaver.

Because this dog was so special, I wanted to not only dedicate my novel, Summer’s List, to her, but also include her in the actual story. I hope readers enjoy the way the little dog gave some of the scenes a bit of extra humor as well as heart and hope. I tried to incorporate most of Laney’s character traits in the book, such as her sprightly and effervescent nature, her adorable tricks and mischievousness, and of course, her loyalty and love. I hope each of you enjoy this character, Laney, in Summer’s List. Here is the dedication from the front of the book.

Dedication
In sweet memory of Laney—
the beloved dog who brought my daughter-in-law, Danielle Higman,
much love and comfort through the years
and who can still bring tears of joy every time she is remembered.

Awww... I'm sure we all can relate to treasuring memories of beloved pets that are no longer with us. I know I can!

Anita Higman is a CBA bestselling and award-winning author with 40 books published. Higman has also been recognized for her contribution to literacy and has raised thousands of dollars for that cause while serving on the board of directors of Literacy Advance of Houston.

Tuesday Treasure: Dolphin Tales 2

Good Morning and a Blessed Day to YOU!

In 2011 folks all over the world were WOW'ed with the movie Dolphin Tale, the story of "Winter" who lost her tail and the power of the human spirit to heal all things through love. Here is the official blurb....

In an inspiring story of the bond between animals and humans, a boy named Sawyer discovers an injured dolphin, who is brought to a marine hospital and named Winter. Unfortunately, her injuries cost Winter her tail, without which she may not survive. But with Sawyer's devotion, a marine biologist's (Harry Connick Jr.) and the brilliance of a prosthetist (Morgan Freeman) charged with creating a new tail, Winter may receive a second chance at life.

Well today, along with Grace Hill Media, I want to share the good news that Dolphin Tales 2 is well underway!  Here's more....

Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment’s “Dolphin Tale 2” continues the story of the brave dolphin Winter, whose miraculous rescue and recovery—thanks to a groundbreaking prosthetic tail—made her a symbol of hope and perseverance to people around the world and inspired the 2011 family hit movie “Dolphin Tale.”

The film reunites the entire main cast, led by Harry Connick, Jr., Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”), Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson, Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Austin Stowell, and, of course, the remarkable dolphin Winter as herself. Charles Martin Smith, who directed “Dolphin Tale,” wrote the sequel and is again at the helm.

It has been several years since young Sawyer Nelson (Gamble) and the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Hospital, headed by Dr. Clay Haskett (Connick, Jr.), rescued Winter. With the help of Dr. Cameron McCarthy (Freeman), who developed a unique prosthetic tail for the injured dolphin, they were able to save her life.

Yet their fight is not over. Winter’s surrogate mother, the very elderly dolphin Panama, has passed away, leaving Winter without the only poolmate she has ever known. However, the loss of Panama may have even greater repercussions for Winter, who, according to USDA regulations, cannot be housed alone, as dolphins’ social behavior requires them to be paired with other dolphins. Time is running out to find a companion for her before the team at Clearwater loses their beloved Winter to another aquarium.

Reprising their roles, Kristofferson plays Clay’s father, Reed; Zuehlsdorff is Clay’s teenage daughter, Hazel; Judd returns as Sawyer’s mom, Lorraine; and Stowell plays Sawyer’s cousin, Kyle. Champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who herself has been an example of courage, appears as herself in the film.

Oscar® nominees Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson (“The Blind Side”) are producing the film together with Alcon President of Worldwide Marketing, Richard Ingber, who brought the first project to the Company.

If you are looking for some great family entertainment, rent or buy Dolphin Tales and then go see, Dolphin Tales 2. You're certainly apt to make memories to treasure!

Until next time...take care and God Bless!
