#ThursdayThoughts: God's Not Dead 2 & #Giveaway!

Good Morning Friends,

I remember vividly the movie, God's Not Dead as I'm sure most of you do so it is with great pleasure I bring to you, information from Grace Hill Media about God's Not Dead 2 which released March 31st!

“What would you do if you shared your faith in Jesus Christ with someone? And it was deemed illegal…..

Would you be brave enough to take a stand in the public square knowing you could lose everything?”
David A.R. White “Rev. Dave”/ God’s Not Dead 2

God’s Not Dead 2 is about taking a stand. It’s about courage and faith. And it will ask each and every one of us to reflect – would we have the strength to fight for our right to share and express our beliefs no matter the cost?

The film’s central theme of religious liberty is a hot topic being addressed in our classrooms, courtrooms and national news today.

God’s Not Dead 2 is the sequel to the highest-grossing independent faith film of 2014. The film stars Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalfe, Sadie Robertson and veteran actors Ray Wise, Jon Lindstrom, and Ernie Hudson. The movie also includes special guest star Pat Boone and cameo performances from The Newsboys and Gov. Mike Huckabee.

From the college classroom of GOD'S NOT DEAD to the public square in GOD'S NOT DEAD 2, the name of Jesus is welcomed less and less with each passing day. If Christians don't take a stand today, will we even have a choice tomorrow? The film takes you back to Hope Springs, home to the University, but also Martin Luther King Jr. High School, where beloved teacher Grace Wesley teaches her passion, history. Her love of teaching, her love for her students, and her love of life all come from the same place: her love of Christ. When a student asks a question regarding Jesus in class, Grace's answer causes her to face an epic court case, that could expel God from the classroom.

Gov. Mike Huckabee endorsement, "A riveting story, brilliantly told, and one that is absolutely plausible as if it were taken from today's headlines. A must see for every believer!"

Hi, Pam,

How great that we have freedom of speech and freedom of religion and that it is part of our Constitution.

The thing is...our nation is filled with many faiths. The overzealous Puritans and their Christian theocracy (which led to the deaths of 20 innocent people in the witch trials) prompted the founding fathers to insist on a new country that was free of religious influence. They were Deists in philosophy and did not establish a "Christian" nation. The use of God and Providence in their writings refer to a Being that sets events in motion. That does not mean they weren't church goers or men of faith. However, Thomas Jefferson in fact expunged from his personal Bible all the passages he did not accept. I think it's stupid to be so "correct" that a public school has to say "winter break" when it's been "Christmas vacation" for just ever, but I have Jewish friends and family and try to look at things from wider eyes. The same as they do with me. All the history aside, I truly believe in the Lord Christ and pray for His victory but think I'm too much a weenie to be a martyr. Duh. Thanks for the provocative post! ❤️

Hubs and I saw the movie Tuesday and I believe it's a film every Christian should see. Though I have college-aged grandchildren, this movie affected me deeper than the first "God's Not Dead." #God'sNotDead. He's surely alive!

When my kids were still in (public) school, I was kind of glad that religion was left outside because I didn't trust the teachers' personal views. It was my and my husband's job to instill faith in our kids' lives, and I felt the teachers had enough influence on them. (It was common for these teachers to get political with the kids, telling them who their parents should vote for in school board elections, things like that.) But I remember thinking how ridiculous the first year our PTA's "Easter candy sale" (all chocolate bunnies and peeps) had to be renamed the "Spring candy sale." I did understand that it was important to be inclusive, though. That was probably 20 years ago, and since then the pendulum has swung so far to the opposite, I do fear that Christianity is being singled out for persecution. It's not always in grand gestures (more often ridicule), but little gestures add up over time, gain support and build momentum. I haven't seen either movie, but I want to.

I haven't seen either movie, but I am sure they are thought-provoking. Everyone has a right to worship as they wish, but it's frightening to me that, in today's world, everything you can imagine is becoming more acceptable, other than Christianity. Society screams about love and tolerance, yet intolerance toward Christians is increasing. Shameful.
