I'm so happy to welcome you to this week's edition of Saturday Spotlight with friend and fellow author, Michael Duncan.
Christian author and pastor, Michael Duncan has served the Lord and the church for nearly 25 years preaching and teaching God's Word. He has shared God’s message across the U.S. and beyond and is currently the pastor of his church, co-host and Bible commentator on the Alive in Christ radio network and has authored or co-authored multiple books, both fiction and non-fiction. He serves on the executive board of the Northwest Baptist Convention and is a former board member of the Northwest Christian Writer’s Association. Given the opportunity, he may be found on the golf course!
Michael's newest book, A Life Worth Living is a short, inspirational book to encourage the Christian in his walk with God.
Blurb - Many wonder about the significance of their life - is it really worth living. God has given us life, and He wants us to live with great purpose and vitality. In this little book, you will discover the value of life and what might be hindering it. If you listen, you will hear God calling you to a life worth living.
Excerpt - There is a life that God wants you to know, a life that is richer, more vibrant and real than, perhaps, you have ever known. He wants you to experience a life worth living.
For many, this means a life filled with the “stuff” of the world. Power, prosperity and prestige call out like the song of the siren, drawing many into believing that if they could simply obtain such paraphernalia, they would experience real living. But God has called the Christian to a life that is higher than that.
But for some, one of the most pervasive, and potentially destructive, mentalities in the life is a “survival” mindset rather than a supernatural awareness and pursuit of life. Many grasp an attitude of futility instead of faith and predetermine the best they can do is to “get by.” In God’s Scriptures, however, there is an explosive, electrifying “aliveness” that accompanies the faithful of God. That is the life that God wants you to experience.Michael is also the author of 2 other inspirational books, Starting Out: A Study Guide for New Believers and The Discipling Church: Our Great Commission: Encouraging, Equiping and Empowering the Body of Christ as well as 3 fiction books: Shadow Remnant, Shadows: Book of Aleth, Part One & Revelation: Book of Aleth, Part Two
