Hope you're enjoying some nice Fall weather and this beautiful full moon.
It is with great pleasure I bring to you another of my Bayou Writers Group friends, Sherry Perkins with The Red Book, her debut work of poems and short stories.
Sherry
is a diverse writer and has been published in many forms of media. She
lives in Louisiana and continues to write and publish. She is also an active member in Bayou Writers Group, having served as President and Treasurer among other things. Sherry also interviews and writes for Southern Writers Magazine.
The Red
Book is the first in a series of poetry and short story collections. Topics
range from a Louisiana plantation story, to Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, to
simple country living, even a eulogy to her father-in-law is thrown in. Sherry
expresses herself in simple language for simple people. Each story pulls you
into different locations; from a bar to a funeral, from a plantation to a
cemetery, from New Orleans to James Dean. Look for the second book in summer
2013.
The Red Book can be purchased through Amazon!
Well friends, hope you enjoy this spotlight as much as I enjoy bringing it to you! Stay tuned for more Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight!
Oh and, before I forget, if you're anywhere close to the Lake Charles area and want to attend a GREAT writers conference, check out Bayou Writers Group's annual "Bridge to Publication" conference, held this year on November 9th! Get details HERE!
Until later...take care and be blessed!
