Saturday Spotlight - Mona Risk

Good Morning Friends!

Today's spotlight is Ms. Mona Risk with her newest release, Rx for Trust.

Here's a little about Mona in her own words......A Chemist and a Writer

Of Greek origin, I grew up in Alexandria, Egypt. The balcony of my childhood bedroom overlooked the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. I spent hours curled on the floor of this balcony, reading or staring at the sea, and imagining wonderful stories where I played heroine to a gorgeous hero. Moving to the U.S. at the age of twenty, I was lucky enough to marry the hero of my dreams and live happily ever after with a lovely daughter and a bright son.

As a Ph.D. in Chemistry and director of an environmental laboratory, I visited fifty countries on business or vacation. To relax from my hectic schedule, I avidly read romance novels or mentally plotted my own books. I was in a hotel room in the Ukraine, typing my latest work report, when the clamor of my characters in my head made me decide it was time to take an early retirement and write the numerous stories I had in mind.

Now I live in sunny Florida with my husband and write full time. I like to set stories in the fascinating places I visited. When I'm not in my office writing, I'm probably walking on the beach and plotting my next scene.

An American psychiatrist, with a troubled past and secrets by the bucket-load has built a successful career where love has no room. The French psychiatrist, she loved ten years ago, detests secrets and threatens to unravel the secrets of her thorny past. Can he win her trust and love before her inner fears destroy their second chance at happiness?
Excerpt:

Olivia loved her mother to death, but at the moment she wanted to scream her frustration at her beaming Mama. It was obvious Marianna Crane had fallen in love with Luc the moment she’d seen him, or more precisely at the very minute he bent over and kissed the back of her hand with an “Enchanté, madame.”

“I’m delighted to meet you, Luc. Please have a seat. Where have I put my glasses? Melissa, bring the tray of hors d’oeuvres from the kitchen. Olivia, can you serve the drinks? Luc, what can I get you?”

Wow, sounds like a great story!

This award-winning novel (the first book in the Doctor’s Order series), was released in December by The Wild Rose Press. Also available at Amazon.com. Barnesandnoble.com.

Well that wraps up another edition of Saturday Spotlight - hope to see you next week!

Until later .... Be Blessed.

Mona,I have to admit - it took me a moment to move past the image of a childhood balcony overlooking the Mediterranean where you curled up, read, and dreamed! Talk about incredible! I've always enjoyed your blogs about your travels - it's a passion of mine as well, though I haven't been to half the places you have!! Rx for Trust is going to be awesome. Can't wait to read it.

Good morning Pam and Mona. Mona, dear, as so many have mentioned, I am visualizing you gazing out to sea in Egypt. Incredible and what a gorgeous backdrop for romance novels. Congratulations on your rave reviews. I have this wonderful book and will not give any secrets away. Just to say, fabulous, darling!

Mona, I envy you such a romantic childhood. What a background for your writing. And I didn't know you were a fellow Floridian. It's lovely here today on the Gulf. Which side of FL are you? I wish you great success with your book.

First I want to apologize for not being around all day. I was out from 2 pm till 11pm for the most amazing event at our church where we were hosting the visionary from Medugorje.

Yeah Susan, I love your TBR list if it includes Rx for Trust.

Hi Marianne, wait till April. I will have the most incredible traveling report if all goes well. I love the ocean and the sea. It's in my genes.

Hi Carol, email me and I will give you some tips on places you have to see although I haven't been to Egypt in fifteen years and places do change. But some have been there for 4000 years and will always be there.

Thank you Linda, every new review give me a special thrill.

Thank you Debra. But I always thought my life was boring and predictable, with a lot of hard work and a few achievements, except for the traveling.

Sharon, I can't wait to hear your review. Let me know when you have time to read it. I know it's so difficult to find time to read when we write, promote, email and still have to eat and live.

Mona Risk said...

Thank you Penny, I am very excited about it.

Hi Linda, I am in Fort Lauderdale which I call paradise on earth, except in hurricane season.

Maggie, I have been in love with Luc during the whole time I was writing and editing. Actually I fell in love with each of my heroes.

Thank you Margaret. Rx for Trust is based on the famous quote of Walter Scott:
"Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive."

Thank you Steph. I can't wait to hear your opinion.
