Tuesday Treasure: The Reality of ESP by Russell Targ

Hello Again!

This week's Tuesday Treasure is brought to you via Nikki Leigh & Promo 101 Promotional Services!

Russell Targ is a physicist and author who was a pioneer in the development of the laser and laser applications, and was co-founder of the Russell Targ - Author and Physicistpreviously secret Stanford Research Institute’s investigation into psychic abilities in the 1970s and 1980s. His work in this new area, called remote viewing, was published in Nature, The Proceedings of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Proceedings of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Targ did graduate work in physics at Columbia University, and is co-author of nine books dealing with the scientific investigation of psychic abilities: most recentlyESP. In 1997 Targ retired from Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space Co. as a senior staff scientist, where he developed airborne laser systems for the detection of wind shear. He now pursues ESP research in Palo Alto, California, and teaches remote viewing worldwide.

The Reality of ESP: A Physicist’s Proof of Psychic Abilities

On February 4, 1974, members of the Symbionese Liberation Army kidnapped nineteen-year-old newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst from her Berkeley, California apartment. Desperate to find her, the police called physicist Russell Targ and Pat Price, a psychic retired police commissioner. As Price turned the pages of the police mug book filled with hundreds of photos, suddenly he pointed to one of them and announced, “That’s the ringleader.” The man was Donald DeFreeze, who was indeed subsequently so identified. Price also described the type and location of the kidnap car, enabling the police to find it within minutes. That remarkable event is one reason Targ believes in ESP. Another occurred when his group made $120,000 by forecasting for nine weeks in a row the changes in the silver-commodity futures market.
The Reality of ESP by Russell TargAs a scientist, Targ demands proof. His experience is based on two decades of investigations at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), which he cofounded with physicist Harold Puthoff in 1972. This twenty-million dollar program launched during the Cold War was supported by the CIA, NASA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and Army and Air Force Intelligence. The experiments they conducted routinely presented results could have happened by chance less than once in a million. Targ describes four types of experiments:
1. Remote Viewing, in which a person describes places and events independent of space and time. For example, while in California Price drew to scale a Soviet weapons factory at Semipalitinsk with great accuracy later confirmed by Satellite photography. In another remote viewing, Targ accurately sketched an airport in San Andreas, Columbia himself.
2. Distant Mental Influence, where the thoughts of the experimenter can positively or negatively affect the physiology (heart rate, skin resistance, etc.) of a distant person.
3. Whole field isolation, where someone in a state of sensory isolation accurately describes the visual experiences of someone else in another place.
4. Precognition and retrocausality, showing that the future can affect the past. That is, the elephant you see on television in the morning can be the cause of your having dreamed about elephants the previous night.
Final chapters present evidence for survival after death; explain how ESP works based on the Buddhist/Hindu view of our selves as nonlocal, eternal awareness; discuss the ethics of exercising psychic abilities,and show us how to explore ESP ourselves. “I am convinced,” Targ says, “that most people can learn to move from their ordinary mind to one not obstructed by conventional barriers of space and time. Who would not want to try that?”

I don't know about you folks, but this sure sounds fascinating!
Hope you enjoyed this week's Treasure. Stay tuned for more Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlights!

Tuesday Treasure: Awakening the Harmony Within by Eugenia Oganova

Good Morning Friends!

I pray your Labor Day weekend was blessed, fun, restful & safe and that your month has gotten off to a great start!

Today's Tuesday Treasure is a VBT brought to you by Nikki Leigh Promotions.

Clarifying your Soul’s desires, and the setup of proper intention for their manifestation

Intent is a purposeful aligned design. Affirmations and self-programing are ways of intent-application in order to manifest a desired reality. Affirmation is a strong declaration. Programingis a sequence of command instructions from the Higher Mind. The Higher Mind then influences the lower mind, the emotional body and the physical body, manifesting what we desire. Manifesting our desires is guaranteed. But this guarantee has six “small print” clauses:

  1. embodying the truth that “I Am God” (for affirmations) and alignment with the Divine Mind (for self-programing);
  2. alignment with the perfect “Universal Timing”;
  3. precise wording;
  4. faith/ belief without proof;
  5. detachment;
  6. absence of doubt (facing/consciously transmuting the “internal Saboteur”).
And these six parameters are often the reasons why intentions do not work. Making a positive affirmation while having fears, worries, doubts and disbelief will achieve nothing. The same result will follow if an affirmation/intention is not continuous because we expected it to work immediately. If one is not detached while affirming (i.e. “know that it is”), it is very easy to manifest the fears of not getting what we want instead. If one does not comprehend, agree and embody as personal truth the knowledge that we are all interconnected, that our thoughts generate our perceptions and that there are Universal Laws that govern energy interactions, NO affirmation will work because its origin will be “too low” (instead of originating in one’s Divine Self, it will emanate from the lower mind).

This is why detachment is necessary for awakening. It allows us to release unconscious intense emotions, so we stop bringing these unwanted experiences into our lives. When detachment is mastered, intent is under our conscious command, and so is the application of intense desire upon request of our Higher Selves. Detachment does not mean “no desires,” instead it implies the knowing that any desire that is in alignment with the Universe is already fulfilled.

Intentions can easily be diffused by the “internal Saboteur”, a belief or memory that is opposite from that which we are stating. This “Saboteur” is a secondary pattern that runs parallel to the one we are affirming, thus they cancel each other out. One of the main “Saboteurs” to being in alignment with “I Am” Divine Self is the belief that we are only spiritual if we do “right, spiritual things”, like meditate, or do lucid dreaming, or eat a certain way, take vitamins, and many other limiting ideas we subscribe to.

An example of intent (program) that can override this pre-set self-judgment is this: “All my energy bodies, and my cellular body, are harmonious with the Universe. This is the truth in every moment, whether I eat, sleep, exercise, meditate or do anything else.” By choosing to program yourself with this intent, you are transmuting limiting feelings and thoughts.

From the Author:  I have always felt myself to be “on a mission” of enlightment – for myself, others, and the planet. My clairvoyant abilities allow me to have an intimate relationship with Earth, the Galaxy, and the Universe, which have never felt far away to me. Being able to perceive the multidimensionality of universal energy, I live in a perpetual experience of Source’s Light/Code in every moment, parallel to regular life’s circumstances, thoughts and feelings. The holographic nature of our reality was apparent to me from birth, and the exploration of that hologram became my life’s work.

I have studied science, history, archaeology and astronomy in Russia and in the U.S. and have a BFA degree from the Art Institute of Boston. I am an autodidact in anatomy and biology, nuclear physics, archaeology, ancient history and mythology, metaphysics and Theosophy. I now live in Maine with my husband, and have a company called Pravda, Inc. (which means “truth” in Russian). For over twenty years now, using my ability to see and read energy, I help people figure out solutions to many life’s challenges through my books, seminars, and private sessions. Read more from Eugenia HERE.

From the Back of the Book:
The four McBride sisters risk their hearts for love in the islands, canyons, mountains and bayous of Texas.

Deserted at the altar, a devastated Rosy McBride heads back to Galveston Island and begins working at her mother’s scrapbooking business. Will spending time with Larson Brookfield help mend her broken heart, or will she merely wind up pasting away?

Christian counselor Lily McBride relies on her quirky common sense and God’s wisdom to help her clients. Will she be successful at her new career or break the most solemn of counselor/patient vows by falling for the handsome, eccentric, and impossibly irresistible Rubin McCall while hiking the Palo Dura Canyon?

In the mountain town of Alpine, Violet McBride owns Romantic Images, a business that teaches people how to live romantically. Will Morgan Jones, a geek she meets online, show her the real meaning of romance and the art of love?

Heather McBride’s picture-perfect life has unraveled in the bayou. Will the free-spirited Evan Finch not only reawaken her artistic passion but also give her the courage to fall in love—without her day-planner?

Will God help give these women the pluck to love the least likely of soul mates?

An Interview with Anita:

Tell us a bit about Texas Wildflowers.
Texas Wildflowers is a 4-in-1 novella collection through Barbour Publishing. Each novella is set in an exotic location in Texas. They are lighthearted romances, and they’re all tied together with the four McBride sisters.

Which of the four novellas was the most fun to write?
They were each fun to write in their own way, but my favorite character was Lily, the counselor, in Forget Me Not Lily. She was quirky and fun, relatable and loveable. At least that’s what I hope readers will feel.

All these novellas are set in Texas. Are the towns and parks real?
Yes, in fact one of the novellas is set in Big Bend National Park, where my husband and I went on vacation. So, when you read about the characters on certain trails, they’re real, and we hiked them!

Did you have a favorite book when you were a child?I loved fairytales. Cinderella was my favorite.

Do you have a vacation spot you’d love to visit?
I’m dreaming of Ireland. My husband and I plan to travel there next summer. Can’t wait! Then I’m going to use the emerald isle as a setting in one of my novels.

What are 5 things that your readers might not know about you?

  1. While I was in college I tried working in a pillow factory. I was terrible at it. I got so weary with the repetition I started yakking with the woman next to me. We got reprimanded over and over until I quit. I discovered one thing from that college job—talking is something I excel at.
  2. I once won a hog-calling contest at a banquet. I was not embarrassed, but I should have been.
  3. I have a bird phobia, and yet I love birds! (That is, from a distance.) My house is filled with the fake kind—prints on the walls, statues, and general bird doodads. Go figure.
  4. I keep some interesting treasures near me when I write—a wooden jewelry box my son made me when he was in school, a candle from the 1960s, a hat once owned by a famous mystery writer, the inner parts of a music box, a birthday card that plays The Twilight Zone theme song, and an old family toy helicopter that says, “Going up.”
  5. Thirty-four years ago I rappelled off a cliff alongside the man I was dating. We kissed in mid-air while dangling off that cliff. I ended up marrying that man, and we've celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary!

What awards have you won?
I’ve won two book awards. One of my co-authored books entitled, A Tribute to Early Texas, won a San Antonio Conservation Society Citation as well as a Westerners International Book Award. Also, I was given three honors by readers: I was a Favorite New Author in the 15th Annual Heartsong Presents Awards, and my co-authored novel, Castles in the Air, was a Favorite Contemporary Romance in the 16th Annual Heartsong Presents Awards. My most recent award is a 2011 RWA Readers Choice Award (first place) for my novella, Once Upon a Christmas Eve.

When readers finish the last page of Texas Wildflowers, what do you want them to come away with?
I would love for them to be inspired, challenged, and entertained. If I accomplished even one of those things I would feel my writing time wasn’t wasted.
