#WednesdayWordswithFriends Welcomes Lisa Becker!

Good Morning!

I pray your Memorial Day weekend was blessed and that you took a moment or two to honor the men and women who've died in service. I'm back from Sam Rayburn lake, staying at daughter's house to dog-sit while they're out of town. I believe my travelling is done for a while, so I'll be catching up with you a little each week. Meanwhile, please welcome Lisa Becker back to our blog..... Take it away Lisa!

Raise your hand if you had an unrequited high school crush.

Back in the day, I crushed so hard on a boy, I willingly sat with him in the bathroom at parties while he puked up strawberry wine coolers, just so I could spend time with him. That humiliation was certainly in the back of my mind as I was developing Links. In this second chance sports romance, awkward Charlotte reconnects with her unrequited high school crush, the athletic heartthrob Garrett, fifteen years later.

While this is a work of fiction, there is an autobiographical element woven throughout, as I was the nerdy girl in glasses who longed to be noticed.

When I was in the process of developing the storyline for Links, I bumped into the son of family friends, who I had known since I was a little girl.  He made a big deal of commenting about how I no longer wore my “big glasses.”

It was so discouraging. Here I had grown into what I thought was an interesting and successful adult. I had a fascinating professional career in public relations. I was married with kids. I’d written several novels. I was an adjunct professor at a major university. I had traveled around the world. Yet all he could see in front of him was the gawky girl with glasses.

It was then I realized he would never see me as anything but a pair of oversized frames. I wanted Charlotte to overcome those perceptions in this book. I hope readers connect with her and root for her well-deserved happily ever after.

A former ugly duckling has a chance encounter with her unrequited high school crush, now a pro golfer. Will their past thwart a second chance at love?

Charlotte Windham went through a typical ugly duckling phase in high school while harboring a crush on Garrett Stephens, the school's athletic heartthrob. Today she’s a bestselling novelist and no longer “Glasses,” the humiliating nickname Garrett gave her.

Garrett transformed from teen heartbreaker to adult lothario and is now a successful professional golfer suffering from a possible career-ending injury.

Fifteen years after high school, Charlotte and Garrett have a chance encounter at a Los Angeles restaurant, and he can’t remember who she is. But as both hearts flutter with unfulfilled desires, awkward teenage memories might not be the only thing standing in the way of forever.

Can Charlotte forgive Garrett for his past ways, and more recent Don Juan lifestyle? Can Garrett change his ways for a second chance with Charlotte, who may just be perfect for him?

If you love second chance romances, swoon worthy pro athletes, smart and witty female leads and happily ever afters, find it now on Amazon or read for free with Kindle Unlimited.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on David Russell & Pearlman!

Good Morning and Happy Easter Weekend!

Today's guest visited last month so please welcome David Russell back with his book, Pearlman. As we mentioned in David's last visit, although the excerpt is mild, David writes erotic romance so be advised before you buy. Take it away Dave....

This was inspired by a passage in the Spanish epic poem La Araucana, which I have translated. In the original story, a Spanish soldier, after a battle, is accosted by an Indian woman who asks him to lead her to her husband's body, to pay her last respects. In the original story, she disappears. In Pearlman the hero is contemporary, but he does time and space travel to those legendary times, and the woman turns out to be Auchimalgen, the Araucanian Moon Goddess. She seduces and enlightens him. There is a backdrop of Chile, with its incredibly volatile ecosphere and long history of protracted conflict. This story combines romance with sci-fi and time travel.

Excerpt:     Her skill in undoing my armour was worthy of any trained white man. “We are supremely adaptable; we learn avidly from those we observe and oppose”, she whispered, her teeth gleaming in her smile. As I saw the chain mail and the cuirass lying there, discarded, I saw that the rust had all disappeared.

Deft hands tenderly peeled my sweat-ridden leather and cotton; it was lovely to be nursed without immediate wounds to distract from the exquisite sensations.

“You must be proud of your exertions!” she said. The power in her words was akin to a duelling challenge. (The time warp flashed me into my happy collaboration with that beautiful fitness trainer, when I imagined that lithe, toned form excelling itself at the Olympic High Jump as her prelude to our delicious consummation.)

I looked up towards her breasts, to see the matching metal, discs, chains, bangles – an array of gold, silver and jade; I sensed their resilience beneath their cover. She read my response with total ease; with a radiant smile, she whispered “do as you have been done by.”

My hands trembled a little as I delicately negotiated the pins and clasps, but I succeeded in making a harmonious pattern of them, like a crown at the head of my discarded armour. It was good to have gained intimate knowledge of those metallic treasures in the museums.

The face of a full moon, reciprocating its radiation on Tegualda’s face and eyes, beamed its glittering reflections, as if casting off a diaphanous robe, to reveal the perfect body of its illuminated rocks, bouncing back and forth around the elaborated grid of our variegated metalwork – steel, bronze, silver and gold – its luminosity almost suggesting that it would all come to life, radiant in the flames of their smelting, almost as two armies facing each other. In turn, the beams flooded our faces, giving an external flourish to our luminous vibrancy charged from within.

She took my hand, and made it caress her sealskin robe: “please do the honours”. I lifted it at the bottom. My hands reached up inside it until they could feel her firm but still slender waist. Repeating my earlier gesture, she raised her arms in surrender and conquest, the robe clouding into a transient veil over her noble features.

Then Tegualda cast off her gleaming white cotton camisera for me with all the challenging flourish of a toreador. She tamed me and fired me simultaneously with her lovely self-revelation.

The walls of my time-capsule were fractured. There glistened across the world, ricocheted back and forth across the centuries a composite of the world’s beauties, celebrated in poetry and song, painting and sculpture, melted, distilled and poured into one vibrant, impassioned, soul-suffused body. Egyptian and Grecian statues and mural figures melted into an array of Hollywood dream sublimities deeply embedded in my memory. This was a spiritual earthquake, embracing all history and culture, the distilled essence of all artistic striving poured into one giant goblet.

What People are Saying about Pearlman....

"Pearlman" by David Russell is an inspired work. It is fun to read, stimulates unconventional approaches to knowledge and scientific inquiry, and is written in language that is a feast for the senses."

#SaturdaySpotlight is on David Russell & Self's Blossom!

Good Morning Friends,

If you read Wednesday Words with Friends this week you'll know it was a rough one and I'm glad it's over. Today's guest is brand new to me and our blog so please welcome David Russell with his book, Self's Blossom.

PLEASE NOTE: Although this blurb & excerpt are mild, Self's Blossom is EROTIC romance.

A romantic, erotic tale of a vivid portrayal of the quest for the inner truth, empowerment and sexual liberation of Selene, a woman searching for primeval abandon and reckless adventure.
Intelligent, a university graduate and a successful careerist, Selene became emotionally scarred by unhappy relationships. Riled and taunted through the years by her former college roommate Janice,
Selene gave in to the long-term desire to "get one back" at Janice by having a passionate holiday encounter.

Immediately drawn to the sea and enthralled by its brutal yet sensual waves, Selene seduces a young boy on a deserted beach. Once she comes to meet the mature and powerful Hudson, Selene finally begins to claim her sensual destiny.

Through a slow process, accentuated by Selene's shyness, introspection and circumspection, she embarks on a long and elaborate interplay of leading on and rejection. The volcanic passion builds until there is a blazing row. A possible drowning, the final ritual undressing at long last, leads to the ultimate flowering of the woman Selene was meant to be.

Excerpt: Here, she was on a beach, pure and simple. Now the sea breathed heavily, whispering and murmuring to her. It was returning her stare, speaking to her. It was the spirit of love, beckoning her with a pulsing, sinewy body. In all its lines, shades, and fleeting forms, Selene saw the essence of pure beauty, all grace of form, flesh, limb and feature. It was in one, all the lovers of whom she could possibly dream, conflated into one elemental ideal. He, pure love in soul, bade her to enter his domain and make it hers. His arms moved her hands to unclasp, unbutton, and unzip . . . the blossom emerged. The sun became the eye of all that was not earth, and Selene loved fully, though the pallor of her skin left her momentarily abashed.

At first she lay in the tide's path, the top of her head at its most extreme mark. The sand bank made a soft bed. The sea lover smoothly caressed her calves, thighs, hips, breasts, shoulders, and cheeks before retreating to pause in his mossy pinnacles. Three times this action was repeated, and then Selene stood up, wading in with arms outstretched. Her arms were linked, as she stood up to her neck in the saline flow. The balls and heels of her feet wobbled, slithering on the moss. With the next wave, she lost her balance – her breath prepared in unison with the hissing around her. She threw her head back, once again horizontal, and launched into a backstroke, sweeping and circling. She parted her legs wide with each thrust of motion, each sweep of self-propulsion pushing out to answer the cavernous currents of his passion. Seven circles gave her a delicious, warm bliss – then the sea lover, well pleased, carried her back to a near-dry bed. Aching and contented, Selene dozed a while.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Michal Scott & One Breath Away

Good Morning!

I'm not even sure how to begin this blog post LOL! I was going to voice my opinion on the panic being generated by our media over the Corono virus but why waste my breath? People are going to react to this however they will so I'll just leave it at this.... Be careful. Be sensible. Take care.

Today's guest is brand new to our blog so please give a warm welcome to Michal Scot as we get a peek into her novel One Breath Away..... a "Christian Erotic Romance".... Not sure if there is such a thing but then again, my Inspirational with an Edge is still an oxymoron in many minds LOL!

Anyway...take it away Mical.....

Sentenced to hang for a crime she didn’t commit, former slave Mary Hamilton was exonerated at literally the last gasp. She returns to Safe Haven, broken and resigned to live alone. She’s never been courted, cuddled or spooned, and now no man could want her, not when sexual satisfaction comes only with the thought of asphyxiation. But then the handsome stranger who saved her shows up, stealing her breath from across the room and promising so much more.

Wealthy, freeborn-Black, Eban Thurman followed Mary to Safe Haven, believing the mysteriously exotic woman was foretold by the stars. He must marry her to reclaim his family farm. But first he must help her heal, and to do that means revealing his own predilection for edgier sex. Hope ignites along with lust until the past threatens to keep them one breath away from love…

PG Excerpt:

“Why not you, Mary?”

“Because someone like you only looks at someone like me out of pity.”

Of course. His aunt put him up to this. Anger warmed Mary’s ears.

“Let me go.” She made to pull away. “I want to sit.”

“Please. Not before the music stops.” He timed his plea to the rhythm of the waltz. “I’ve waited all week for this moment.”

Mary gritted her teeth. Heart hurt joined her injured pride. She needed no one’s charity.

“That was cruel of you, sir. No one counts the days until they can ask me for a dance.” Tears pooled behind her closed eyelids. “Anyone in town could tell you that.”

The grip on her hand tightened, forcing her eyes open. The light in his gaze darkened. “Anyone who’d lie to me like that would be taking their life in their hands.” He leaned in so his mouth nuzzled her ear again. “And if you use that I’m-not-worthy tone of voice again, I’ll be forced to prove you wrong with a kiss.”

Alarm shuddered up Mary’s back. “Is—is that a threat?”

“A certainty.”

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Marie Tuhart & Reflections of You

Good Morning and Welcome!

Well, we managed to not float away with all the rain yesterday which ushered in another cool front. No, it's not 'cold' by many standards, but if these temps hang around a while, a lot of folks will be happy. Myself included. I love the cool nights and warm, sunshiny days of Fall and Spring!

Today's guest is brand new to our blog, so I'm going to turn it over to her. Readers Please Note: although the excerpt is PG, as the cover indicates, Marie writes erotica romance.

Take it away, Marie.....

Game night at Club Crave is heating up...

Engaged couple Paige Thomas and Tanner Adams enjoy a little kink both inside and outside of Club Crave. But lately, Paige has been pulling away from Tanner, and he's determined to discover why before it's too late. Game night at the club fits his plans perfectly to push Paige to her limits to save their relationship.

Excerpt:

A bell sounded, and Tanner turned his attention to the stage. Master Jason made his
announcement, and Chris was the first to draw his task for game night.

Then came his turn. Tanner took a deep breath and strode up to the stage. He dipped his hand into the box, pulled out a piece of paper, and opened it. Take your D/s relationship to a new level, respect hard limits, but push those you can. Enjoy yourselves and indulge in your fantasies. Please see a DM for instructions on where you will play.

Tanner turned away from the stage and glanced over at Paige. She was staring at him, her blue eyes wide. Olivia stood slightly behind Paige and stared at him hard, then she pulled the fabric of her dress away from her body and pointed to Paige.

He dipped his head in acknowledgement. He wasn’t exactly sure what Olivia was trying to tell him, but he had a feeling it had to do with the clothing he’d picked for Paige. He took Paige by the hand, led her over to the Dungeon Master, and handed him the task.

The DM read it, stared at them for a moment, then pointed over Tanner’s shoulder. “Room five,” he said.

Paige’s sigh of relief was loud, but Tanner didn’t say anything. Instead, he led her up the stairs. Room five wasn’t one they’d played in before. At the door, he turned the knob, pushed it open, and gestured for Paige to enter.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Dana Littlejohn & Tri-Romance

Good Morning Friends,

It's been a busy week and only going to get busier as Medicare AEP comes up next month. We've had several days of rain and our friends in SE TX are flooding again....much like they did with Hurricane Harvey. Please keep them in your prayers.

Today's guest is new to me and brought to us by Personalized Marketing Inc. so please give Dana Littlejohn, author of sensual, erotic romance a huge welcome!

Twin sisters, Opal and Pearl Jefferson, and their best friend Debra Flores were living blissfully by their no strings attached rule, enjoying the many comforts of a good life. All was well in their world until Frank, Jake, Doug and Rakim entered into it. When one of the girls abandons their well practiced rule and falls in love, does her decision throw a monkey wrench into the lives of everyone else around her? Or does it open up the possibility for love to capture them all?

Excerpt: Opal spotted Doug coming from the floor, but tried not to smile. The braids fit his head nicely. They made the almond shape of his eyes and cute rounded ears stand out more.

“So, what do you think?” he asked leaning across the counter.

“It looks great. Debbie always does a good job.”

“I’ll be in the car, man. See ya, Opal.”

“Bye, Rakim, remember what I said.”

Doug nodded at him then returned his attention to Opal. “Okay, maybe I should rephrase the question. What I meant was, how do you like the braids on me? How do you like me in the braids? How about just me, by myself? Do you like me?"

She chuckled. “You want to know all that?”

He laughed, too, a throaty, sexy sound that kept the smile on her face when she heard it.

“Well, maybe not all of that. How about just this one: will you go out with me?”

“I don’t know you, Doug.”

“I’m trying to change that, baby girl, if you give me the chance. Let me take you out so you can get to know me. People who know me like me, you know.” He flashed that beautiful smile again.

“They do, huh?”

“Yeah, girl. Come on, let me show you.”

“Well…”

He came to the other side of the counter and pulled her up. “Will ‘please’ help my case?” he whispered.

He held her firmly by the waist, pulling her closer. She put her hands on his chest to push herself back. The firmness of his torso excited her.

“Umm, okay.” She reached over to pull a business card from the desk and handed it to him. “Call me and we’ll set something up.”

He smiled again, dazzling her one more time. “Awesome, I‘ll do that.” Letting her go, he pulled a pair of shades from his top pocket and put the card in its place. He gave her a wink and walked toward the door.

“Doug…”

He stopped holding the door open and slid the glasses in place.

“You do look good in your braids, much better than that poof you started with,” she said with a teasing smile.

This book is sensual and erotic. NC 17 rating and can be purchased directly from Dana who is going to tell us a little more about herself in her own words....

Writing has always been a part of me...in my blood, my soul. As a child I wrote hickory dickory dock type poetry as i doodled on my papers in school. By the time I got to middle school I was writing full stories in weekly installments to entertain my friends.
I continued to write over the years but life and family took over. When my children grew up and moved out I had time to write again. I wrote my first real novel in 2003 and got it published in 2006. I haven't stopped writing and I don't plan to.

Come along on the wild ride through my imagination. You will not regret it!

#WednesdayWordswithFriends new guest Lynn Chantale!

Good Morning!

I hope you're September has gone well so far. Today we remember the sad and scary events of 2001. Please take a moment of silence to pray and send peaceful thoughts to our world as a whole and especially those directly affected by this awful day in our History.

Thank you.

Now, please give a huge, warm welcome to a new-to-me author, Lynn Chantale as she shares some words with us from her service dog.....

Don’t pet me, I’m working

Yes, I know I’m cuddly cute., with soft yellow fur and long floppy ears.

I’m well trained, and love everyone, but please don’t pet me, I’m working.

Look beyond my trim physique, and my bright white teeth. See the harness, and the human attached to the handle. Exactly, I keep her safe. So please don’t pet me, I’m working.

I watch for curbs. cars, and other obstacles she may not see. While, I love to eat, she’s the only one allowed to give me treats. Don’t try to distract me by blowing kisses and waving a hand. I'm hard at work, that simple enough to understand.

I get lots of love playtime, and yes lots of snuggles and cuddles too.

So when you see me out, I know it’s hard to resist the cuteness, but please don’t pet me, I’m working.

We're all tempted to befriend these beautiful animals and tend to forget they're actually at work so THANKS for the reminder Lynn!

Lynn writes erotic romance and her tagline is "Where romance, er world domination begins." Find out more about Lynn and her books by visiting her Website and connecting with her on Facebook and Twitter @lynnchantale

Hope you enjoyed today's post friends and that you'll check back weekly for more

HAVANA BAY CUBA
Author Kathleen Rowland picked the setting of Cuba for a reason. She wanted to trap her proud Cuban professor there. He survives because of his flamboyant personality and opportunistic nature. Cuba is a fascinating mid-century time warp. The 1950s cars still run due to amazing mechanics.  No matter how hardworking, Cubans exist under strict communistic rules such as the inability to move from one section of the country to another. Without free-enterprise they can’t make much money.  If they do leave, they can only bring ten thousand dollars with them, but this would be a huge amount of money for most Cubans. Big business such as cigar manufacture is government-run.

One Night in Havana—blurb:
A desperate competition and sizzling attraction leads to dangerous desire.

New York Marine biologist Veronica “Roni” Keane is attending the Havana Bay Conference in Cuba. Tomorrow only one grant will be awarded which will provide the winner with professional recognition, resources for a project, and living expenses for two years. She hopes to continue her deceased father’s work, but smooth operator, Carlos Montoya, has won many grants in the past.

Carlos, a freelancer for the Havana Port Authority, works to help protect Havana’s reputation as a bastion of safety. As international travelers flock to the island, attracted by its 1950’s time-warp and colonial architecture, the drug business is running rampant, particularly on Roni’s cruise ship. Something’s not right, and when her scuba tanks are tampered with, Carlos brings in the military police to investigate. For her safety, he keeps her close, but he craves her body.

Their attraction leads to a fun night with a bit of kink. But Roni finds herself in more trouble than she bargained for when the criminals blame her for alerting the military police and come looking for her. Can Roni trust Carlos to protect her? Will she stay in Havana if Carlos wins the coveted grant, or kiss her lover goodbye?

Excerpt-- Chapter One

“Why, Veronica Keane.” A voice heavy with a Spanish accent drawled from behind her. “A dive bar?” A taunting tsk. “What do we have? A slumming New Yorker?”
She stiffened and closed her eyes. She knew that voice and its owner, Dr. Carlos Montoya, a finalist like her, competing for the same damn grant at the biggest Cephalopoda conference of the decade. Her heart pitter-pattered against her ribs. To turn toward him would intimate distress, or worse yet, weakness. She wouldn’t fail to win this grant, not when she was a final contender. “I like this funky little place.” Sia Macario Café, smack in the center of Havana, allowed her to observe locals and their daily lives.
“You need to eat with all the mojitos you’ve downed.” The big tease wasn’t counting. This was her first drink, but his rumbling, sexy timbre hinted at all kinds of dark, hot promises. She’d rubbed shoulders with the Cuban scientist all week. This splendid specimen of Latin male brought on a physical ache that punched low.
A flare-up stirred fear. For her own good, she needed to resist. “I ordered camarones enchiladas.” By now she knew the menu on the chalkboard by heart. She tipped her head back to whiff grilled shrimp soon to arrive in sofrito sauce with fried sweet plantains.
“The flan is good. Just like my abuela makes.”
“I bet. Your grandmother would be happy to hear that,” she said, knowing he brought out the best in most people. Two days ago he'd invited her and a handful of others scuba diving. The chance to ogle him had been one of the perks. He’d worn nothing but swim trunks, his bare chest on display. Every glistening muscle was finely etched. Not a drop of fat on him. Since he’d not given her the time of day, she’d checked him out without him noticing.
The hard-bodied host had led the way toward habitats of soft-bodied creatures. To find where invertebrates lived was never an easy task. Octopuses squeezed into narrow passages of coral for protection and gave females a place to keep their eggs. She’d discovered the remains of a few meals nearby. Octopuses scattered rocks and shells to help them hide.
This grant meant so much to her and no doubt to him as well. Veronica mindlessly toyed with the gold necklace around her neck, but anxiety crackled through her brain. Unlike this man of action, she lacked the flamboyant personality necessary to talk people into things. Carlos had that ability. He'd made friends with judges on board while she’d conversed with an older woman about a box of scones made with Cuban vanilla cream.
That day the wind had picked up to a gale force, and this woman named Bela with Lucille Ball red hair needed help walking to her home. The half mile down the seaside promenade, The Malecón, had provided her with time to practice her Spanish. Turned out Bela was Carlos’s grandmother. She’d worked as a maid when the Castro government came to power. When private homes were nationalized, titles were handed over to the dwelling occupants. Bela owned a crumbling home in the respected Verdado district and rented out rooms.
What Veronica detested about Carlos was his abnormal level of talent for schmoozing. Not that he wasn't charismatic; he drew her like a powerful magnet with emotions hard to untangle. Why was a self-assured woman who ran her own life thinking about a man who commanded everyone around him?

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Constance Bretes & 2 of her novels!

Good Morning Friends,

It is with great pleasure I bring you today's guest. Constance Bretes is a friend from the Authors Helping Authors (AHA) promo group I belong to and she is sharing with us two of her latest releases.

Take it away, Connie!

Marissa's home was her haven, until Riley invaded her space.

Escaping from her abusive ex-husband, Marissa Simpson returns to her hometown to start over. She spends her days working at the local jewelry store, and the rest of her time is dedicated to mining along Red Rock River, searching for precious gems. Marissa has no intention of getting involved with another man, or with the community she left behind all those years ago. That is until Riley McCade shows up.

Riley is the Sheriff of Quartz County. He loves his community and goes out of his way to protect and serve. When he meets up with Marissa, he's bound and determined to get to know her even though she insists she's not interested.

The more Riley learns about Marissa's past, the more he concludes that she may be in danger. When her ex-husband shows up, can Riley protect her? And can he earn her love in the process?

Blue as Sapphires can be purchased at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Kobo.

LOVE that cover, Connie! What else y'got for us today?

He's an overworked police chief, and she's a disgraced cop. Can he rescue her from her own depths of hell without losing his heart to her in the process?

Someone is kidnapping newborn infants and selling them to the highest bidder. Police Chief Patrick Carter has his hands full investigating the case. To complicate matters, he's short on staff.

Jade Harlowe has secrets, ones that she vowed no one would ever know. She used to be a police officer, but when a tragedy occurred—one that everyone held her responsible for—she resigned and moved to another state to start over, accepting a job as a dispatcher for the police, fire, and ambulance departments.

When Patrick discovers Jade's past police experience he offers her a job on the force. He needs help working the kidnapping cases, and Jade previously solved a similar case, so she could be a valuable asset. But will they be able to fight the attraction that's sizzling between them? Something that could be very distracting if they can't control it.

The clock is ticking. They have to find those babies and prevent more from being taken. But a very nosy news reporter may compromise everything if she digs deep enough to uncover Jade's past.

Neither Patrick nor Jade thought they had room for each other in their lives, but working so closely together makes it impossible to deny the chemistry. Can Patrick break through the wall Jade has built up around her, or will her past finally catch up with her and she loses everything once again?

Jade's Redemption can be purchased at Amazon, B&N, Kobo & ITunes.

Wonderful, Connie....now tell us a little about yourself....

I started writing contemporary romance and contemporary romance suspense fifteen years ago, and after multiple rejections, got my first contract for Delayed Justice, released in 2014.

I lives in Basin, Montana, where three feline furballs own me and my husband, and a dog that lives next door named Sara, who thinks she also lives with the Bretes family. I love the mountains that surround my home, I love basket weaving, jewelry making, and just visiting all the folks in the small community we live in.

I currently have seven books published, and a number of other ones in various stages of edits. Right now, I’m working on a new book, called Roadside Love. A murder mystery/romance is a small town in Wyoming. I have two other books that are at the end of their editing days and now at critique partners, the books are Elkhorn In The Moonlight and Rocky River Gold. Both are small town romances.

#ThursdayThoughts with Kryssie Fortune

Good Morning and Welcome!

Well, it's the last Thursday in October. I can't believe it either! I guess time really does fly, whether you're having fun or not. I must say though, it's been an exciting, adventurous ride for me.

Today's guest has visited us before. Although this excerpt is PG, be aware that Kryssie Fortune writes EROTIC romance and use discernment when checking out her books.

Take it away Kryssie.....

Hero or Sitting Duck? Or Both?

“We don’t need a list of rights and wrongs, tables of dos and don’ts: we need books, time, and silence. Thou shalt not is soon forgotten, but Once upon a time lasts forever.” — Philip Pullman

Each friendship offers something totally unique — and irreplaceable. Each friendship ultimately makes us who we are.

We all know, a true friend is hard to find. So when you do find one, hang on tight! It also doesn't hurt to let your best friends know every now and then just how much they mean to you.

This doesn’t just apply to people to but writers and their books.

I want my readers to love my heroes, identify with my heroines, and feel like they’ve found new friends.

Let me tell you about my latest book release – Submission, Secrets, and the Soldier.
It’s Book 4 in my Heroes of Westhorpe Ridge series, and like the previous three, it’s a
stand-alone HEA romance.

Luke Roberts, a former army mechanic, has a new sub. She's shy and inexperienced, but willing. As he teaches her about sensation play, she fears he'll really hurt her and screams her safewords at him. Her reaction causes Luke to have a flashback. Although he's clawing his way back to normal, he suffers from PTSD. Determined to get well, he contacts a PTSD specialist in Westhorpe Ridge.

Kathryn Johnson has visited a BDSM club three times. When she hooks up with Luke Roberts, he unintentionally terrifies her. She swears off spankings and goes home to Westhorpe Ridge. The last person she expects to see there is Luke Roberts.

Circumstances force them to share an apartment. Can Luke protect her when danger threatens? Or is she just a temporary sub in residence?

Excerpt PG – for an adult book
Inside the dump truck’s hopper, Kathryn screamed as the car sped toward them. “Farlaise. Straight ahead. We’re sitting ducks.”

Luke gritted his teeth and opened the throttle. The dump truck sped up. Solid, but not superfast, it trundled along the road. A brick outhouse came to mind as he headed directly for Farlaise’s car. This was one game of chicken Luke meant to win. Even if he took a bullet, he’d hold his course and keep Kathryn safe. “So, junior leaguer, how’s your pitching?”

She tried for a smile, but it turned into a grimace. “I had one of the team’s lowest earned run averages.”

Luke kept the throttle open wide. The chugging of the engine grew louder, but he’d told her the dump truck had a top speed of less than thirty miles an hour. The wind made it feel faster.

He took a deep breath and yelled, “Hooah. Balls-to-the-wall time. Our dump truck will pulverize their front end. When you’re near enough, lob one of your Molotov things in their direction. Anything to keep them off-balance since I might as well have a target on my chest sitting up here.”

She barely heard him over the engine noise. Adrenaline shot through her. She shivered with a mix of exhilaration, panic, and determination. Protecting Luke mattered more than her safety. Her fear level rose right along with her blood pressure. She could hear her heart race, but she’d keep the driver distracted. No way would she let Farlaise and his henchman hurt Luke.

Kathryn peered out the hopper. The henchman had his gun pointed directly at Luke. No way, buster.

Submission Secrets and the Soldier can be found at Loose id Amazon USA Amazon UK & Kobo

Kryssie is never seen without her kindle. She reads everything and anything she can get her hands on. When she discovered hot, sexy reads, she felt like she’d found her home. The only books she hates are the ones that end with a cliff hanger or have unhappy endings.

Kryssie tries to set her stories in places she’s explored. Hopefully, it adds color to her writing. Anything can spark a story idea. Sometimes she takes liberties though. The North Yorkshire town of Whitby is one of her favorite places. To keep the details of her imaginary town, Westhorpe Ridge consistent, she mentally shunted Whitby over the Atlantic and renamed it Westhorpe Ridge.

When not writing, Kryssie loves to walk on the beach of home town, Bridlington, or potter in her garden. Popping down to London to see her family is her favorite thing to do.

Kryssie currently has thirteen books on general release along with a boxed e-book of the first three Westhorpe Ridge stories. All her stories are M/ F or M/M/F. All are edited by publishing houses in either the UK or the USA. While her stories sizzle with sex, plot comes before bed. Life’s always an adventure going on in Kryssie’s world.

Kryssie loves to hear from readers. Here are her social media links: Facebook Twitter Blog  Website Or you can email her direct on Kryssie.Fortune@aim.com

Before I sign off, I'd like to say a few words about EROTIC romance authors/books.....

Some people may judge me for featuring authors who write these books and that's OK. That's their choice. Others may wonder why, since I write Inspirational, would I even feature EROTIC romance authors and their books on my blog. Why not stick with Christian/Inspirational authors?

Here's why: Yes, I am a Christian but I am also an author and I know the effort it takes to write and promote a book, any book, and I appreciate the work all writers put into theirs. Therefore, I don't judge what my author pals write. I only seek to help them promote. Heaven knows I've been judged enough over my "steamy, gritty, sensual" Inspirational work! I hope you, my reader friends understand and even though you may not read EROTIC or any type of sensual books, you'll support my guests' hard work and drop by each week for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight.

Thanks Friends, I knew I could count on you!

Until next time, take care and God bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Kryssie Fortune and Desire, Deceit and the Doctor

Good Morning Friends,

Today's guest, Kryssie Fortune has shared thoughts and the spotlight before, so please welcome her back with her newest release, Desire, Deceit and the Doctor....

**Remember Friends, even though this excerpt isn't too racy, Kryssie writes erotic romance**

Twelve years ago, Mandy Devlin moved away from her friends and family--under threat. If she returned in the next ten years or told anyone who fathered her baby, her boyfriend’s great-aunt would bankrupt her family. She’s a single mom who dreams of her lost love and a good spanking. When she’s finally free to return to Westhorpe Ridge, the last person she expects to see is Adam--the man she loved and lost so long ago.

Dr. Adam Montgomery doesn’t know he has a son. Thanks to his great-aunt’s will, he has nine months to find a bride or he loses Montgomery Hall and the fifteen million dollars she left him. Although he seduces Mandy on his first night home, he still believes she betrayed him twelve years ago. No way would he marry a woman like her.

As Valentine’s Day looms, someone tries to kill Mandy. Is Adam trying to get rid of her? Or can Mandy trust him to protect her and her son?

Excerpt: Adam opened it, fresh from the shower. His close-cropped black curls lay in damp bristles against his scalp. A drop of water ran down his chest, and she struggled not to lean in and lick it. Barefoot and bare chested, wearing only his jeans, he looked…edible.

Part of her wanted to lean into his chest and let him hold her, but she still fumed over the way he’d paid her for last night’s pleasure. Her gaze fixed on the wound in his shoulder. Puckered and red, it looked as though it wanted to bleed rather than let the crisscross of butterfly stitches hold it shut. She wanted to check the exit wound too, but he lifted a sardonic eyebrow. “Yes?”

Damn him for being so beautiful and masculine, every inch the wounded warrior home from the wars. Refusing to fall deeper under his spell, she yanked the wad of bills from her pocket and flung it in his face. The bills fluttered to the floor at his feet. “Keep your stinking payoff, and keep away from me and Ben.”

Startled, he stepped back, but a smile flashed briefly over his lips. Worried she’d do something stupid like apologize, Mandy stalked out the garden and slammed the white-painted gate behind her.

Ignoring the money, Adam chased after her. “Mandy, wait. I didn’t mean what you think. I figured as a single mom, you could use the money.”

She stopped and turned like a dervish, her fists curled tight. He’d shamed her at their senior prom, but she refused to give him any power over her again. She blinked, surprised he’d come so close. He towered over and invaded her personal space.

Making no effort to lower her voice, she shoved at his chest. “Let’s see. You bully my son, then drag me into your bed without even a thought of a condom. Finally, you leave me an insulting note and two hundred dollars in cash. Well, keep your payoff, pal. Just tell me you haven’t got AIDS or something.”

She’d have stormed off, but he grabbed her wrist. “Wait. Last night, I should have used protection. Damn it, woman, I shouldn’t have slept with you at all. For the record, I’m HIV and everything else free. Besides, since you haven’t a faithful bone in your body, I should be asking you the same. No wonder your kid’s father walked away.”

Too furious to think straight, Mandy slapped his cheek. The unexpected blow made him stagger. With a toss of her red mane, Mandy stalked away. Head high, she marched through the small town’s streets, her proud stare a challenge to anyone who looked her way.

Wow, Kryssie...sounds like a story full of fireworks of every kind! Where can readers purchase Desire, Deceit and the Doctor?

GREAT! Now let's find out more about you....

Kryssie Fortune writes the sort of hot sexy books she loves to read. If she can sneak a dragon into her paranormal books she will. Her paranormal heroes are muscular werewolves, arrogant Fae or BDSM loving dragons.

Kryssie likes her contemporary heroes ex-military and dominant. Her heroines are kick ass females who can hold their own against whatever life - or Kryssie - throws at them.

Her books are all stand alone, even when they’re part of a series. Plot always comes before sex, but when her heroines and heroes get together, the sex is explosive and explicit.
