Promoting authors has been a passion of mine for years. I began with author spotlights since the beginning of this blog in 2007 which evolved into the Saturday Spotlight feature which debuted October 4th 2008. Since Saturday Spotlight stays books months in advance, I started this Featured Author page where I can spotlight an author for the entire month (for a nominal fee) and I've been blessed at the response from my peers!

Show What You Know is inspired by James 1:22 where James teaches us that knowing the word of God is not enough, we must do it. Show What You Know was written to assist you to learn the word of God with simplicity like Jesus taught. Show What You Know will assist you on getting to know Jesus, not just knowing of Him.
Show What You Know will help you to trade old actions and reactions for freeing actions and reactions that will bring peace, joy, hope, love and so much more. We have the equipment, the instructions, the directions, the armor, the promises, the examples and the map to get to Heaven (The Bible ). Now together we just need to learn how to use it! When you are aware of the armor on you, nothing can harm you.

No Place Like Heaven is inspired by my love of the Wizard of Oz, crazy right? What Pastor would see Jesus in such a movie? But I do. Jesus taught in parables and I want to excite you through this book to see Him in everything, not just church. He is everywhere all the time waiting to lead you down the narrow path that leads to that beautiful golden street in Heaven. The Bible teaches us the beauty of that path, the gates, and the eternal life waiting on us. (Revelations 21:21 "And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass"). It is up to us to go down the narrow path by walking by faith not by sight like Dorothy. Renewing our mind like Scarecrow. Finding out how to have a heart for Christ & like Christ like the Tin Man. And to have courage to stay on the narrow path no matter how scary that may be like the Lion. We have the power through Christ Jesus to get to Heaven. We have to decide to use it for ourselves!

When you think of the character Strawberry Shortcake, you think of the sweet aroma of her. That is what she and her friends are known for. As Christians we are to be that sweet aroma to Christ. The problem is we are wondering why we do not smell like berries and flowers. When I think of the smell of Jesus it brings to my understanding the birth, serving, teachings, journey, sacrifice, the three days in the tomb, and the resurrection. In Philippians 4:18-20, 2 Corinthians 2:15-17, and Ephesians 5:2 the Word of God expresses that our birth, serving, blood, sweat, and tears go to the Lord as our sacrifice and our offering. They are the sweet aroma, they are the smell of Jesus seeping through our flesh. The Lord gave me this parable of Strawberry Shortcake to remind us of the Fruit of the Spirit. In Matthew 7:15-20 Jesus reminds us that we will be known by our Fruit. There is only one Fruit, that is Jesus and He comes to reside in us. The only way others will know if Jesus is in us is to witness the evidence of that Fruit. Galatians 5:22-23 expresses that love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control is the evidence that Jesus is in us. Better Together by Jill Deville. A parable about the Care Bears for Adults and Teens. At first it was the bellies in unity for me. When we are in unity in Christ, that is what we look like. Our light shines from our souls on one accord to God. Then I saw it, the Forest of Feelings and that was it! Do you need help out of the Forest of Feelings? The Israelites showed us what it was like to go through the Forest of Feelings ( Exodus 15:22 – Exodus 18:27). Jesus showed us what it was like to go through the Forest of Faith ( Matthew 4 & Matthew 1-28). God’s provisions daily are all that we need. The road map through that forest is the bible. It is packed with instructions, love letters, treasure hunts, promises, directions, and proof that God is able. Pastor Jill Deville is a dedicated pastor, leader, teacher, preacher, driver, reminder, janitor, and owner of Gift Ministry of Louisiana located in Basile Louisiana. Pastor Deville is known for her love of God and her desire to teach how to Show What You Know. There is no job that is too little or too big that she will not do out of her love for the Lord and His people. You will find Pastor Jill Deville speeding down the highways in Eunice, Basile, and Elton on Sundays and Wednesday typically with cops behind her or waiving her to just go as she rounds up the members to ensure they hear the word of God. With a loaded car, pictures taken at every stop, and a smile that Jesus is seen through, she is there ready to serve the Lord.
Jill has been a licensed ordained minister since December 20th, 2019, through Independence Apostolic Church Incorporated through the Leadership of Andrew Justice Jr of Arkansas. She has been the Pastor and owner of Gift Ministry of Louisiana alongside her husband James Deville and Daughter Cloie Deville for five years.
Pastor Deville is married to her childhood sweetheart; they have been together thirty-four years. They met at a local skating ring, she fell, he picked her up and the rest of the story is in the making…and it is a pretty great story. They have three children and three grandchildren so far!
Jill is non-fiction Christian Author of thirteen books. Each of these are great study guides, tools, and access to God’s word activated. Her books are utilized in individual or group studies; teaching each reader how to Show What You Know. Her books consist of the Show What You Know Series with four volumes. By profession Jill was a licensed forklift operator for Walmart Distribution Center by night and a manager for Days Inn by day until she and her husband became business owners in 2010. In 2015 she and her husband lost everything and through that, they found everything, Jesus!!!! He turned them around and put them on solid ground and they have never looked back.
Jill went back to school to finish her law degree, completed it, and now is a licensed Tenure Senior Certified Mediator & Legal Document Preparer for both Family and Civil Law for Louisiana. She is the owner of Choice Mediation Solutions that has been in practice for over ten years.
Jill is a survivor of FIVE major brain surgeries since 2022. As you can see, she is faith filled, hardheaded, and you cannot stop her from sharing God’s word with a smile because she knows her Redeemer, Healer, and Protector. She prays through her messes, moments, & missions that others will see the message from Jesus and what it looks like to be hooked on & connected to Jesus.
When you ask Jill what her greatest accomplishments are she will tell you knowing that she is the daughter of the most-high God, her marriage, children and grandchildren. The rest are gifts and talents from God. Jill is in amazement that God trusts her to reach, teach, and preach to His children to ensure they get back home to Him. No matter if from the hospital bed, work, a book, or a platform, she will serve Him until her very last breath with all she has.
