#ThursdayThoughts: New Year Resolutions
Well we've made it through another year and if you're like most folks, you're looking back at what you didn't do and forward to what you should do that you've missed out on all the present moment achievements, blessings, successes and lessons.
I know, I'm guilty of this too.
It's always good to look back but we should do so with the attitude of appreciation. I mean, even in the bad things there is something to be grateful for.
So for 2015 let's make a vow, a pact...yeah a promise to live in the present moment as much as possible and see how our lives change by doing so.
Does this mean I'm not going to set goals or work to improve those areas of my life I'm less than satisfied with?
Of course not.
It only means I'm going to give myself a break and do my best to appreciate every day, and (if possible) every moment of this precious gift of life I've been given.
I vow to laugh more, love more, forgive more, sing and dance more, meditate and pray and yes, hopefully even write more.
So instead of those dreaded resolutions that never seem to work out anyway, just do your best to live each moment of every day to its fullest with love, laughter, joy and gratitude.

Thursday Thoughts: Ring out the Old, Ring in the New
Happy New Year!
I've heard that this is the first time in many years we've had a New Moon on New Year's day. We've all associated New Years with new beginnings. But a new moon also influences new beginnings. So this year we are doubly blessed.
How about we take advantage of that and ring out the old with a flourish....
Instead of making resolutions which tend to have negative connotations, how about deciding this day how you will live, act and respond by replacing old patterns of thought with new.
The Bible exhorts us to call those things that be not as though they are and tells the poor to say they are rich, the sick - they're well, the weak - they're strong.
Why don't we take God at His word and replace thoughts of anger with forgiveness, chaos with peace, sickness with health, poverty with wealth, frustration with compassion, etc.
Find or create positive affirmations (words or statements) that speak of your life the way you want it to be instead of harping on the way it is now and make 2014 a year of new beginnings for the rest of your life!

Reflections
Good Morning Friends!
Today I head out to my favorite place in the whole world.... Silver Spur Guest Ranch in Bandera, TX.
This is the time of year we reflect on goals & resolutions made and kept or forgotten ~ a time when we give special Thanks for the year past and set forth prayers, hopes & dreams for the year to come.
So I'd like to start by THANKING everyone who takes the time to read my work -- whether that is my blog, novels, short stories or articles -- May you be blessed and God glorified!
When I left the corporate world at the end of 2009 I figured if I put all of the passion, devotion and energy into my writing that I did into my marriage/family life, I could really move my career into that next level -- Little did I know I was emotionally incapable of doing so.
Oh, I stayed busy -- editing & promoting for others - even had a couple of new releases of my own (In His Sight 2010) and (The Visionary in 2011). I've partnered up with a couple of friends to implement The Wordsmith Journal, and wrote an online course on promotion.
I started several projects, finished & submitted one that was rejected (twice!). Both big accomplishments considering my mental & emotional state and the fact I still had a hard time focusing and feeling enough to write my best and to seek out speaking engagements.
Now we're on the cusp of a new year and, for the first time since my husband's death in August 2009 I TRULY feel inspired to write and to focus on my career!
My goal for 2012 is to accomplish what I set out to do in 2010 -- write more and better & to finish those WIP's, speak more often and God willing, minister to others through both.
Now...to get settled and organized LOL!
What did you accomplish in 2011? What are your goals for 2012? I'd love to hear from you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May your celebrations be safe, your dreams fruitful & your days prosperous.

Happy New Year!
Hi Friends,
Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy and BLESSED New Year!
This week I'll be Spotlighting Author, Hazel Statham and her novel My Dearest Friend a Wings EPress book!
Here is Hazel's Bio:
I live in Staffordshire, England. I started writing at fifteen and have written on and off ever since. I have always been fascinated by history and write mainly in the Regency and Georgian eras, although I have been known to occasionally stray into Medieval times.
Writing is a compulsion I just can't ignore and my work has been mainly influenced by Heyer, Bronte and Austen, although over the years, I have read many authors who have inspired me.
When I was a child, I often told myself stories and this just progressed to committing them to paper to entertain family and friends. However, there have been gaps in my writing years where marriage and employment have intervened, but now that I no longer work, I am able to return to my first love and devote my time to writing. I had my first two novels published in 2005.
I have been married to my husband, Terry, since 1969 and have a grown daughter and beautiful grandson. Apart from reading and writing historical novels, my other ruling passion is animals and until recently, I was treasurer for an organisation that raised money for animal charities.
I currently share my home with a lovely yellow Labrador named Lucy, who is my constant companion. Lucy is a real sweetie, but it's not always easy working at the computer with a large Labrador trying to get on your knee!
Drop by on Friday, Jan 4th for an excerpt of My Dearest Friend!
Until then...take care and be BLESSED!
